Tge ladt fellow to check my clients battery for done reason attempted to remove the vent and had broken it off. Since it is in the trunk one must vent the battery to the outside. Otherwise your dumping volatile hydrogen gas into the atmosphere of the vehicle. Not a good idea... pieces fit perfectly and the danger has been cured.

The size was an exact match for the original one I broke on my 2017 Dodge Challenger but it is too big to go into the new Mopar battery I just bought. Go figure. I am thinking about either filing or slowly drilling the vent hole on the side of the battery slightly bigger but it is at the very top of the battery case.

Though you do not need everything in the kit, the elbow and the rubber washer it goes through works perfectly on an everstart battery from walmart. Forget the $500+ battery from lexus and do this yourself.

I just replaced the OEM 12v battery in my 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid with an Everstart AGM battery. It works beautifully, but the vent tube and port from the old battery didn't fit into the new battery's vent hole. This elbow connector slides right into the car's stock vent tube, AND it fits into the new battery's vent port. Perfect all around! I'm saving the tubing they sent for future projects. 👍
