This is a video peephole/camera/doorbell setup for a front door. For me, this replaces a vintage turn knob doorbell that was installed where peephole should be. Therefore, I already had a perfectly drilled hole, and somehow, the length of this device was exactly the same as my door. I must have gotten lucky because the physical installation of this thing was a breeze.Setting up the software is a whole different story. It was unclear how to pair the device with my home network. The device began repeating "READY TO PAIR" over and over as soon as I turned it on. At that point, I didn't even have the app installed yet. The instructions in the app was not wonderful, and this particular device was not well represented visually. After resetting it probably 6 times, I finally managed to get it to pair and was able to use it properly. When the doorbell is rung, the chime is loud. Unfortunately, the speakers are tinny and gross, so it sounds awful. Definitely gets my attention though! It also passes a notification to my phone and I can "answer" the door remotely. Kind of. The mic on the doorbell is pretty good, as I can hear the visitor on my phone pretty clearly. But OMG the speaker on the doorbell is so horrible. The person who presses the doorbell is met with garbled mumbles and muffled grunts. The app has a voice changer, which is ironic because the speaker is too weak to even play normal voices. I discovered that it is most legible when the "Robot" filter is applied. Go figure. For the video, it is actually better than acceptable and I feel like that is where this thing shines. The screen on the device is big and clear, and the camera has day/night modes making it work well in any condition. The camera displays very well on my phone screen too, and does so in real time. Personally, I think that the camera makes me look pretty handsome on video, so I can't say too much bad about it.Overall, this is way better than nothing at all. I like that my front door has a video screen and that I can tune into the camera from my phone whenever I ant. The doorbell works fine and once it is setup, it does what I want it to do. Just don't expect to have conversations through your door with this. It is no Ring.

With it being both a camera, and having a ribbon connector, and a smart device, I assumed it would be rather complex and hard to set up. However, like most other smart devices on the Tuya app, and other smart device controller apps, it was as easy as turning on the camera, selecting the correct device on the app page, selecting the wifi, and hitting go. This gives you a live calling function from the camera to your phone, if someone rings the bell, it calls your phone, so you can talk with them in live time, either on the other side of the wall, but as well as on your phone anywhere. The camera resolution is better on the device than on your phone over cellular or wifi data. So I'm assuming the recordings will be decent quality, and the night vision works very well. However it is a lower definition than most security cameras it is just a doorbell so I wouldn't expect 4k. It will record but likely 720 or 1080 with a little grain. So using this for it's function rather than a security camera and rather using it in tandem with other security measures and other cameras is recommended.Super easy to set up, super quick and intuitive. Gives you much more control and security of your house. The doorbell on the unit has a decent ring to it you'd hear it in any adjoining room. Maybe not through the whole house and through multiple doors and walls but anywhere near the front door and you'll for sure hear the chime. The speaker isn't that strong, but it belts its little heart out when chiming, and you can hear moderately clear from the other end, I haven't done too much testing as there's tons of feedback if you're close enough for the mics to pick each other up, but what I did hear wasn't too bad and was totally understandable.I like this a lot and works on the same app as all my smart locks so I can use them combined if someone is coming over and I need to unlock the door for them and I'm not there. As well as extra security against threats not needing to open the door to talk to whoever has made it up to the front steps.I would highly recommend to anyone who likes gadgets like this and wants to add to the security of their home.

This video camera doorbell looks great on the outside. It feels heavy and well built but says not to install in a water-driven area, which my front door is. The ribbon cable goes through the wall and installs easy no screws on the outside just glue or sticky pads. I have trouble setting up the camera due to no Internet on my WiFi router. It needs a WiFi signal with working internet to pair to the app on the phone for 2 way calls. I downloaded the app and tried to add the camera but it kept getting an error code. I will have to try support, but it sounds like you Must have a working WiFi with the Internet for the camera to be set up and used; otherwise,e, it obnoxiously says, " waiting for pairing camera in pairing mode !" The screen resolution is great; I can't believe how good the night vision is; I can see 30-40 ft outside testing it. I think it is lacking in design. If it loses connection, it talks so loud it's starling in pairing mode. I wish it just functioned offline as a 2 way to talk back, but it does not have any function to talk to the outside or vice versa. Only through the App can you talk to the outside person remotely and say you are traveling. For the price its neat but it needs some tweaking or maybe a way to switch off the voice prompts with Bluetooth only or pair with Bluetooth .
