Important Tips:
There are two ways to charge the digital access control camera:
1. Keep the charging cable plugged in so that the peephole camera will not lose power and can work all day.
2. When the digital door mirror runs out of power, remove the door mirror host with camera and charge it. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to fully charge.

This is great for replacing the old conventional peephole viewing device or to install in a new door that never had a peephole to begin with. The install was easy, did take about 30 minutes or so and works well. Turns off on its own after a set time and then to activate it you simply hit the power button and it turns on. You can charge the battery with a USB C cord.

Somebody is indeed watching you, if you are on my doorstep. And that somebody is me. I find this particular piece of home security extra reassuring, because it connects to its own monitor, which provides me access to see who is at my door without having to be at the mercy of an app or bad network connection. Side note, the screen that it comes with is also an unexpected breath of fresh air, because the resolution provided such clear details, I could see people's eye colors. I prefer this cam to the doorbell cams, because you can see people at eye level.

Super easy install but the picture quality is so bad that I might have to remove it and trash it. Once it starts getting dark out you see nothing on the screen and the daylight picture is just as bad.

This is a nicely built product. All parts seems durable and well designed the only issue is that the camera quality is very low. I wish it came with a slightly stronger camera especially that good quality camera are cheap these days.

Got this to replace a totally useless optical peephole viewer.PROs-* Super easy installation.* Internal storage for pictures with ability to flip through to review.* Attractive appearance both inside and out.* It's easier to see who's at the door than with the typical optical viewer.* Display unit dismounts easily for recharging.CONs-* The display is NOT high definition. The display is grainy, does not provide a broad contrast or EV (Exposure Value) range, and the colors seem washed out.* The night vision doesn't come on immediately and sometimes not at all, depending on the level of ambient light. This is made worse by the "not high-def" display.* English-language instructions are translated literally from another language and are difficult to follow. The installation instructions are pretty clear, but installation is so simple the instructions aren't even needed, but the operation/functional instructions are about as clear as mud.Neither PRO nor CON-* There's no way to download any images captured by the camera. In our case, that's not a party-stopper because we have real high-definition security cameras to capture all activity around the house.

Update. In the morning when the sun is facing our front door the camera sees the bright light and makes the image of a face too dark to see it. Still a good product, but something to be aware of.Our door did not have a peep hole. There are no instructions for what to do in that case so here is what I did. I drilled a hole at 59 inches from the ground. Used a 12 inch drill bit. The exterior unit fit perfectly in that hole. You then slip the metal plate on and tighten the screw. They had 4 lengths. I used the shortest. The cable connector snaps in easily to the interior unit which you then just slide onto the bracket. You need to slide it off to recharge it. I worry about that flat ribbon cable; if anything will fail over time it will be this connector as you have to unsnap and resnap every time you recharge. I am hopeful it will last over time. Then the last step is to remove the protective film from both the interior and exterior units. This was a big fail. They give you a starter tab on each, but they just pull off and leave the film behind. I tried many times using my finger nail to grab and pull the edge, but could not do it. The solution was to use an Exacto knife with a very thin blade and pointed tip. I was then able to grab it. So why 5 stars. Because it is very nice looking with quality materials, and fits securely on the door. The view is good enough to get the job done.
