Absolutely amazing! The Poultry Waterer holds a lot of water, so I don’t have to refill it as often. It kicks on automatically when the temperature hits 40 degrees, keeping the water from freezing. Durable, easy to use, and ensures my chickens always have fresh water, even in the coldest weather. Highly recommend!

I live in northern Michigan and we get really cold winters! I bought this last fall and have had it in a covered outdoor run all winter and it has worked perfectly. Last winter I kept water in the coop, what a mess, plus I had to break the ice out everyday. I have 12 chickens and put 1 gallon a day in the easy fill top, but with the 3 gallon capacity we can be gone for a weekend and not worry about their water.

This is the best waterer I have found in my over 60 years. Heavy duty, easy to use, and so well thought out!You will love it.

It worked great for one year. Now everything freezes up. The epoxy part of it is shorted out and no longer works. I’m disappointed because I went the extra mile to spend more for a better quality product and now I have freezing water. Don’t waste your money. Unfortunately this is not the quality product it says it is.

Training the coop to use this can be a bit difficult. I found if you restrict their water for a little bit so they're thirsty helps keep their interest while showing them where to get water. I tried holding one and pushing her beak into the dispenser is ok but holding and pushing their head into it is not something they really like. So I just pushed the dispenser and them being curious saw the water drip out of it. I did this for about 10 minutes until one came up on her own and pecked it and that's all it took. Once one 'got it' the others watched and understood. This unit is made very well. Super easy to clean and keep the water from freezing. Although this unit isn't cheap it's worth it.

I bought this a couple of months ago and was excited to have something that appeared durable and easy to use. I didn't worry about plugging it in, because it wasn't cold enough.Unfortunately when I realized that I didn't have the cord I went through a lot of rigmarole to try to get one. It's 16 ft long and a hard thing to misplace and was supposed to have been inside of the waterer . I didn't think about it at the time I hung it up.My texts back and forth with them were not helpful because it sounded like I couldn't get a cord to replace that one and I was unhappy about paying another $88 for a new cord and a second water or that I didn't need. After talking to Premier One directly, they were very kind about it and offered to send me a replacement cord at no charge to me. As an aside, the water hasn't frozen in it but once when it got down to 17°. I think the container itself is pretty insulating. The chickens like it. I can fill it up and carry it outside very easily. The other thing is that the last one I had, while not terrible, required a base to sit on and was very difficult to clean the inside of. This one is not.In the meantime, I told them that if I found the other cord I would send them a check. You can't get a replacement cord through Amazon, but you can call them directly from their website.

Great design, except for the cord attachment, which I'll mention later. I like the extra long cord, and the fact that it connects at the bucket so I can use it for the summer and winter. The flip top opening makes refilling super easy. As far as the cord attachment goes, there is a small notch that is supposed to assure proper alignment, but it is super easy to connect the plug the wrong way. This means that you have a 66% chance of plugging it in wrong at the bucket and it won't work. I had just purchased this waterer a few weeks ago. I thought it was working fine but after several days of it being around 20 degrees, I realized that the water was frozen on the top and the nipples weren't working. It took some scouring, but on their own website it mentions that it is "easier than they would like" to attach the plug the wrong way. Went back out and found a very small notch that is easily missed for alignment. Also then found an arrow that is supposed to help alleviate this issue as well that is lightly engraved on the plug itself. Thus far I would recommend the product as it warmed up and thawed overnight. Just be aware of the plug alignment. If the company reads this, it would be helpful for the plug to be designed in a way that it only plugs in correctly, or a sticker be added to the product with a disclaimer/warning about the alignment.
