Have had these in five gallon buckets in our large coop for months now and not one has broken, very impressed with that at this low price! The drill bit that came with them was not so great, we ended up using our own that is the same size. My advice if you also use a bucket is to mount the cups close to the bottom then set the bucket on top of something, or hang it from it's handle. Then the cups have clearance to fill and you won't have a lot of water left in the bucket when the cups are empty.

These cups are stronger than others I have purchased in the past.

I ordered these to put four waterers on each of four buckets. They came with no instructions, so I installed the first four 1½ inches from the bottom. This is not high enough. When I set the bucket down, the cups came in contact with the ground and lifted them up enough to constantly leak water. Once I set the bucket on a stand, they worked fine. For the other three buckets, I installed the waterers 2 inches from the bottom which is OK. Now I see on this product page that you are supposed to install them 3 inches from the bottom. It would have been nice to have the instructions in the package. But it's OK for me, since I put all four buckets on stands so the chickens and ducks don't have to lean over so far to get a drink. One of the first things I noticed was that the supplied drill bit is not very sharp. It took 10-20 seconds for each hole in the 5-gallon plastic buckets I was using.Installation is still easy. I like that each waterer comes with two gaskets. One for the outside (already installed on the stem) and one for the inside before you screw on the wing nut.I also like that the cup is big enough for my ducks to get their bills in for a drink. Both the chickens and the ducks learned to drink from them very quickly. Four 5-gallon buckets of water were empty within a few days (much better than the two 3-gallon waterers I had before that I had to refill and clean almost every day). And there is no evidence of leakage on the ground around them (so far; keeping fingers crossed). And the cups keep the water in the buckets clean because there is no regurgitation of chicken or duck dirty spit back into the waterer. If you need to carry the water container after filling it, just be careful to not let your legs hit the cups or hit the cups on objects while walking.I'm hoping these will last a long time.

Work well but seem to be poorly made. As I said, they do work though.

Place cups on bucket an then place bucket on wooden holder so off the ground. Chicken were able to break cups off bucket by stepping on them . Lost spring to drinker cups which make cups unable to hold water. Unhappy thirsty chickens

I liked that this was an easy, inexpensive way to water a lot of birds. The only problem I had was that the chickens would twist the cups so they would leak or stop working.

I have used 2 similar cups for my birds in the past. Both brands eventually leaked or clogged or both. The spilling and mess those garbage cups made made me want to switch to a different method but I decided to give these a try just because I needed new ones.I’m so glad I got these all the mess is in the past. The design virtually guarantees no leaks even when getting hammered by ducks and geese. Highly recommend these. Not all water cups are equal, these are far superior
