Very bad product. Don’t last. I broke more than 4 pieces already when installing because it’s poor quality. I used another brand previously and needed more nipples so I ordered these. I compared these to my old brand and these are definitely poorer quality. Plastics are more thin and flimsy leading to easily breaking. I’m so frustrated after installing these nipples on my 32 gallon water can, it has now been leaking from the nipple ( not due to the seal but directly from the nipple metal part). That’s an indication of the metal part separated from the plastic holder. I’ve never had issue with my previous brand and they are all surpassing the life shelf of these which I bought months after the other brand. It’s still snowing here and now I have to work in the snow trying to fix my babies (chickens) waterer. I’m back here ordering replacements but going to get them from my previous brand, not this one.

These are great. Best way to water chickens I've found. They do not leak and have a small flat spot under the nipple that catches a couple drops of water when the chickens push the nipple - they seem to move the nipple & then drink the drops that trickle out. My vertical nipples leak slightly (OK for outside, but not for inside), the water cups worked OK but the chickens foul the water quickly and it needs to be rinsed several times a day. I was a little concerned that there was no nut to fasten on the back side but it has not been necessary - I use a soldering iron to melt a hole slightly smaller than the threads, then thread in while the plastic is still soft, works great - no leaks & stays in the hole. I've used several containers from buckets to laundry detergent containers & chlorine tab buckets. I can fill up several containers and then not worry about water for 4 - 6 days.

I've used this style of nipple for a while, and have been happy with the mess free watering option. I needed more to create another watering bucket and found this lot of 20 nipples for a decent price. They work as they should, for the most part, but out of the first 5 that I used, only 2 were good (no leaks). The first one leaked so bad, I replaced it immediately after filling the bucket. That first replacement was good. The next two to leak were not as noticeable until I came back later and found the puddle of water it was making. I replaced those about a week later, and realized just how bad they were leaking. I went from filling the bucket with 1-2 gallons a day, to it taking several days before I needed to add water to.The bucket has 4 nipples on it, and none of them are currently leaking. Swapping out the leaking nipples was very quick and easy. For what it's worth, I love this style of nipple, but if you plan to use all 20 for your first project, you may want to reconsider (or buy double).

These leak. Couldn’t get any of them to work without leaking. Bad product. Do not recommend.

The chicken waterer nipples worked great for me, and the chickens got used to them right away. The only issue I had was that 2 of the 12 leaked really bad and it turned out to be mis-shapened o rings. The float valve screwed right through the 5 gallon bucket with a 7/8 inch hole drilled in it. Now all I do is fill the 32 gallon container once a week and all the chickens have an unlimited supply of automatic water using the nipples. There are no leaks. other parts were needed like float valve kit, washing hose (with 2 female ends), a 1/2 npt female to a 3/4 hose male adapter and a shut off valve. All of these were super cheap or already on hand.

I initially made these without any sort of sealant around the threads and they leaked. I made another one where I used a silicone sealant around the threads when I inserted them and waited for it to dry before adding water. My waterer has been outside for 5 months and there's zero leaking.I don't think this is a defect of the nipple anymore than plumbing pipes are without their proper connection sealants.Awesome, affordable product.
