My old waterer was done just by simply cutting up pvc pipes, and these are a lot better in these two ways:1. The adaptor on these connectors is flat, so when you insert the cup or the nipples it sits flush. Compared to the pvc pipe where the natural curvature of the pvc pipe means the flat end of the nipple is not evenly putting pressure on the pipe and its really easy to leak.2. Regular pvc pipes is thin, so you cannot get many threads on them, therefore you need a back nut to be able to attach them, if the cup or nipple broke for whatever reason then that section become useless because you cannot just take the water cup/nipple off. These however makes it easy to replace the cup/nipples.Even though these are more expensive than just buying a single piece of pvc and cutting it up, there are less maintenance you need to do afterwards.

Perfect for poultry cup waterers. Evan without the Teflon tape on the waterer there was no leaks. I put these every 14 inches along the line that is gravity fed from a 1300 gallon tank. So far no leaks or issues with the pressure affecting the threads.

We were going to try drilling holes for the water ports, but then we found these gems. So much easier to just glue on the pvc and insert the water cups into. A great save on time!

Cutting to the chase, RecommendedI got these tees to make a new watering system for my chicken coop. They're perfect for running PVC pipes and using the tees to connect to watering cups or nipples. If the threads don't seal completely, just use a bit of Teflon thread tape to seal them.Pros:* Sturdy construction.* Ready to use with no drilling or tapping needed.Cons:* None so far. I will update you if something comes up.PLEASE NOTE: Reviews reflect my “customer experience” using the product, based on the actual performance delivered vs. what the product’s description and/or its pictures or diagrams may seem to suggest.1 Star: Abysmal customer experience and/or failed to meet significant parts of its description.2 Stars: Poor experience, primarily as described, but is IMHO ‘second-rate’ and/or very poor value.3 Stars: Average experience, reasonably meets the expectation promised in its description.4 Stars: Good experience, meets all described expectations, and a reasonable value for money.5 Stars: EXCELLENT experience! FAR OUTPERFORMED all expectations!

I've used different kinds of nipple waterers for many years and had pretty much given up on screw-in nipples. Typically you drill a hole in your container or PVC pipe, screw in waterers and hope they didn't leak. Even though I thought I had figured out the correct hole size, leaks were still a problem, so I went to the rubber-clad push in type waterers.I still had some screw in nipples left over and decided to give these threaded tee fitting a try. The don't come with any instructions so I tried screwing the nipples in with and without teflon tape. Both worked fine and did not leak. Whoopie! I recommend this product.
