I thought a new router would provide consistent wifi but this device is worse than my old router.

When I got this modem I tried installing the next day. Had problems. Called Linksys and they told me this modem was no longer being made and there was no warranty. I said I just got it yesterday and they asked if it was from Amazon and they said ok, the warranty was extended then. I had to call my cable company to finally get it working. No where on the instructions does it say to contact the cable company. But the person at the cable company was very helpful and we got it working but the next day it did not work and I had to call back to Linksys and they had to reboot the whole system

Very good product! I spent almost $300 on Xfinitys modem which isn't up to par, they're out dated and if you want to upgrade internet then you need to get an upgraded one from them. I also STRONGLY believe that they mess with the connection from time to time to get you to upgrade internet speed because since I have replaced it with this ac1900 I have not had any problems. Sometimes I have to unplug and restart it but the internet ALWAYS comes back on and connects unlike their product I was renting. So I'm literally saving alot of money! I recommend switching to this if it will work for you, just do your research and double check but don't call Xfinity because they will try to scare you into thinking that only their products work -_- scam

Got this after finally deciding paying the rental fee each month was a rip off. Great buy and price for a student budget. Works better than the Xfinity router I had--used to get spotty service in my bedroom (router was placed in the middle of my small one bedroom apartment) but now I have full speed everywhere in my 3rd story apartment and even carries down to my car.Does take some time to set up but a quick call to Xfinity and navigation made it simple. Disconnected my old router and set this one up with it working in about 30 minutes.

Easy Easy! You need a laptop with Ethernet to step up. Put your password in, follow a few questions, that takes you to xfinity app to activate, will send you a code to your phone, put it in, and that's it. No call to Xfinity. This modem/gateway is faster than the xfinity supplied modem. I recommend this product to Xfinity customers.

This is a preliminary review after about 10 days of using the new router. When it works, it works well. It was difficult to set up. The instructions are not complete enough to guide you through the process. I had to speak with a customer service rep for assistance.Last evening the router decided to forget all the network programming that I had done under the guidance of the service rep. I had to reset the modem and then go through the process again. When it is not working correcting, many devices do not "see" the router network and therefore cannot connect. We will see if things improve or get worse.

Overall: This unit has poor reliability-- constantly losing the connection and needing to be rebooted. This unit also has poorer signal range than a Comcast Xfinity-provided rental cable-modem. I have spent hours with Linksys customer service but they have been unable to improve the situation. I will be returning the unit and finding another brand. Background:I purchased a new CG7500 modem router from Amazon (with my own money-- this is not a paid review) about 2 months ago (June 2017) to replace a Comcast Xfinity-provided unit that worked without any issue-- that router had good signal range, good speed, and good reliability--rarely needed any sort of reset. I just wanted to stop paying the Comcast rental fee. For the CG7500, I am operating with the latest Firmware (version .016). I have both wired and wireless devices connected to the Modem/Router.Setup: Setup of the CG7500 and connection to my Comcast Xfinity ISP was easy-- I did not need to contact Linksys for help in setup. That was really nice.Problems:1) The signal range was far worse than my Xfinity modem/router. I have a large house with the modem centrally located in the middle of the ground floor, but the signal does not reach the edges of the house upstairs and downstairs (neither the 5Ghz or the 2.4Ghz). My previous modem/router installed in the exact same place had no trouble providing that signal range. With the help of the Linksys technical help, we tried multiple frequencies to improve the signal, but none really improved the situation.2) Regular disconnections. My CG7500 loses the internet and/or stops broadcasting a signal on a daily/hourly basis. Usually unplugging the unit and plugging it back in would help, but not for very long. This problem has become even more frequent over the last month. My previous Comcast Xfinity modem/router had no such issues.Speed: When working properly, the speed of the CG7500 on 5Ghz is good, with download speed at over 250MB/s and upload at 30MB/s, consistent with the speed of Internet service I pay Comcast for. On the 2.5Ghz signal my download speed is very inconsistent (but always below the 5GHz speed at the same distance from the router) and doesn't seem to provide any extra signal range versus the 5Ghz band(ugh!)Update: Linksys accepted my return and refunded my money without much hassle. I do appreciate that they made it right after we couldn't get the product to function as desired.
