The first one lasted more than 5 years so I bought another of the same model to replace the old unit. There are multiple devices and streaming TVs in our house, there haven't been modem issues. 5 years is the useful life of a modem, so no complaints that it needed replacing at 5.5 years. Definitely a better deal than renting.

The Motorola MG7315 Modem WiFi Router Combo represents a solid choice for home networking needs. Its integration of a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and N450 single-band WiFi router provides adequate performance for typical internet activities like web browsing, streaming HD content, and light gaming. While the single-band WiFi is a limitation for users needing higher speeds or better coverage, the modem's support for up to 343 Mbps download speeds aligns well with most broadband offerings at the time. Setup is straightforward, and compatibility with major cable ISPs ensures ease of use. However, with the market shifting towards dual-band and higher performance routers, the MG7315 may not meet the demands of households with numerous connected devices or those requiring more robust WiFi capabilities. Overall, it's a reliable option for average internet usage but may not satisfy users with more demanding connectivity needs.

Update:- lately I have been having issues with the wifi speed of this router. Max speed I can get is 20mbps sitting right next to it. If you watching anything above 720p it buffers a lot.Max ethernet speed is 221mbps even though I have a connection speed from xfinity of 800mbps. I ended up turning off the wifi of the modem and got tplink deco mesh system. I am getting 200mbps on every wifi device now. This has served me well for a year but I will be getting a better modem for higher speeds.Original review:- Comcast keeps increasing their modem rental sneakily. This went on sale I ended up buying it. I have 200mbps package from Comcast so would I pay $11 for a 1gbps capable modem? This modem works perfectly for me , very easy to setup didn't have to reconnect anything. If you watch utube video how to setup without starting from scratch you will be much better off. I have about 13 devices connected to it wirelessly and 3 ethernet so total 20 devices without any issue..

I have been paying through the nose for a modem for years, and finally bit the bullet and did some research for one to use with Comcast XFINITY. This one was a happy medium between lower end and top tier, so I decided to go for it.Package arrived fast, and safely. Setup was easy as I have a live coax cable in my wall. So once the cozx cable was attached to the modem, and the power adapter plugged in it took less than 5 minutes overall to boot and give a strong signal. I took 1 star off because the modem was a little funky at first with Comcast and despite authorizing it to my account online, it didn't allow Internet usage until after I called Comcast directly. It had secondary provisional requests for some reason that were not apparent. But all is well, clear signal and no latency issues while having multiple devices in use and consistent streaming.

Stop working after a few months. I bought this MOTOROLA MG7315 8x4 Cable Modem Plus N450 back in February of this year and it stopped working a few days ago. Before it stopped working completely it was giving me a lot of problems. When I got the product I changed the network name and password. I would be unable to log on at times and when I reset it goes back to the original network and password and I could not input my network and password that I created.Well to make matters worst I could not find their network at all for 2 days. To call support, it's like 1 hour. Now they are telling me that the product is defective and I have to pay the shipping to send it back. Now usually a person can get at least a year or a couple of years out of a modem/router. I read most of the reviews before buying but I would say this is not a good product. As far as I am concern this is JUNK. There are much better products out there. I don't want a replacement I need my money back because I have to go and buy another modem/router combo. Don't stick me with your worthless product I can go and try others. Now I have no internet and to me, this is not right. SHAME ON YOU MOTOROLA. I would not recommend this product.

Bought this for my new Comcast setup for a move in Jan, but I tested it out on Atlantic Broadband first for my parents (it was on the ABB list of compatible modems and they were interested in consolidating their older modem and router).I haven't set it up with Comcast yet (will update when that happens). For Atlantic Broadband however: We had to call their customer service to add the modem because it would NOT connect at all-even after sending a refresh signal to the new modem using the automated self-help -I was on the phone with customer service for AN HOUR working it out. That says more for their customer service than anything. BUT once it was added the connection was immediate and everything is great! Excellent speed, great range all the way across the house and to the garage, and no problems setting up the wireless either. All the devices are connected and working flawlessly. I am really shocked at how nice this is for a combo unit of this price range. It will be great for my apartment.I will update in Jan when I get Comcast up and running to let you know if it's good there, too
