Product is easy to install with the velcro straps. Good value for your dollar except the shovel did not last long. They perform as expected. Have good pair of shoes to strap for best performance.

I strapped these on to an old pair of boots and went straight to stomping around the yard, not literally. These work really well! They stay on my boots well, and I'll catch a leaf or two, but nothing that would hinder me from completing the job. They're easy to clean as well.

The product seems like a good idea I theory, but after using it on my lawn I had to return it. It rips up chunks, constantly needs to be cleaned while using, and doesn’t make hole big or deep enough to actually make a difference. I will say it is well built. Walking with them on is awkward, but I expected that. Putting them on is a bit tricky. As for stability….you need to be careful obviously. It’s like walking on roller skates at first. As others have said; you have to march in them. Stomping down with each step to penetrate the ground.

Aerates the yard very easily. Will give the neighbors something to figure out as you goofily walk around the yard. Each has toe and heel straps making it easy to adjust for foot size. Very stable once straps are set up. Would buy again.

I read many reviews before choosing these aerator shoes and they are as good or better than what I reviewed.1) One negative feedback I saw was that the spikes will probably bend when hitting rock. I did not see that at all. I have brick and rock sidewalks that I go across when I'm mowing and I see no bent spikes. You do have to walk carefully over those surfaces in order to not slip but these are no different from old golfing shoes.2) Soft dirt makes the spiking easier but it does clog up the spikes. A perfect tool to clean them is a putty knife with a narrow width blade (1"-2"). I mow about 1/2 acre yard and cleaned the spikes 4 or 5 times. I cleaned them every time I emptied the leaf bag.3) Walking in the spikes is no problem in the yard. I wore my hiking boots with the spikes. Make sure you tie your shoes snug and also snug down the spike velcro straps as much as possible. I walk slower than usual with deliberate steps and have no problems pushing the mower as normal. The shoes just feel a little heavier than usual.4) These spikes are not nearly as good as a true aerator machine as pointed out in other posts. However, these spikes are immensely cheaper and easier to use. They do create nice, but narrow, holes in the grass. One strong recommendation is to rake up leaves prior to mowing as the spikes to hold those leaves very well.5) One other item these spikes have with golf shoes is that they are very comfortable walking in but it does feels so good taking them off when you complete the round. :-)In conclusion, I would buy these again and wish I had bought them a lot sooner.

My small front yard is sloped with a large carrotwood tree at the center. Nothing grows around the carrotwood tree. However, there is one area of the yard that I have continuously been trying to grow grass for several years. I have tried the larger mechanical plug aerators, but to no avail. These shoes have allowed me the ability to aerate, overseed, add composted topsoil, and aerate again every few weeks. The grass has become greener than ever. More weeds than I would like, but that is my next project. The shoes are very sturdy and there was no trouble penetrating the surface. My only issue was that they were a little difficult to put on over my regular shoes, but once on, they worked great.

It was a little challenging figuring out how the straps went at first, but once that was done, I found the shoes very easy to wear and use. I looked at a lot of different aerator shoes and am confident that these are among the best. The metal plates on the bottom add considerably to the shoes' sturdiness. The nylon straps are thick and strong, and the hook-and-loop closures keep the shoes on tight with no slippage. Contrary to what some other reviewers have said, I did not have to "march." I just put my feet down flat instead of rolling from heel to toe and walked a little slower than normal. I used a hiking staff to help with balance but think it will be no problem to do without it next time. It is a bit of a workout; however, I was able to go for an hour even though I'm not particularly fit. The spikes did not loosen at all during that time. You're not supposed to use these on dry ground, so I waited until the day after a moderate rainfall. The only time I had dirt get packed on the bottom of the shoes was when I walked in places that were sparse on grass and/or a little too wet. It's too soon to tell if aerator shoes are actually going to do any good for the lawn, but these are great for anyone who wants to give it a try.
