This works decently. I would say it’s a good middle ground between a manual foot press and more expensive gas or electric powered one. It will take a little strength and elbow grease to push this around and get the results you want, though even with additional weight added to the wheel.

If you’re like me and usually don’t buy this kind of item on Amazon due to fears of it not showing up as you expected, ergo smaller, not as heavy duty or not living up to its promise because let’s be honest. Selling and shipping quality yard tools is a tough task…but here you’ve found a home run!It’s a bit premature probably for my area, if that’s even a thing, to aerate my small ish sized grass area of my backyard. I AM DETERMINED this year to employ every tool, step, and measure to keep my grass, rather yet grow my grass to perfection…I’ll settle with alive and full.The grass at my home backs up directly to a bullhead retaining wall so it’s got its own challenges and is compacted by nature or the loose soil would yield to unstable barrier.I’ve been looking for a high quality aerator for a decent price for a while and really couldn’t find anything close to this in price, and now that I see it…quality. Packaged well and easy assembly (really just putting together a few bits because of the shipping) this is one of my favorite purchases for the yard yet!The ability to load the roller on site and even empty if you desire is a huge plus. Carrying around the properly weighted aerator /roller I needed were just not options for me and my back. Luckily, I could grab some of the landscape rocks nearby…weight it up. And then when I was done using it. I just emptied the canister of the rocks and put them back in the yard making it easy to store this tool.Evenly distributed aeration and an easy to push high quality roller and handle arm…if you’re in need of lawn aeration I really can’t recommend this enough. I don’t often give 5 stars but this is a win.Looking forward to reward of proper preparation for stunning grass, which starts with aeration (and in my case if very densely packed soil)!

This manual rolling lawn aerator is easy to set up. It comes with everything you will need for assembly. Make sure you read the assembly instructions completely to avoid having to come back due to missing steps. The tines are long and can go pretty deep. You have the option to increase the weight of the roller by adding sand, gravel, or rocks. I would recommend using the larger gravels. There are small gaps on the side so sand and small pebbles may fall out from the sides over time. Larger stones or rocks will have gaps and can cause an imbalance. I used larger pebbles and packed it rightly which workers perfectly. I have an aerator attachment for my riding mower but is unable to reach the smaller areas around landscapes and next to sidewalks. This roller is just perfect for those area. Highly recommended for hard to reach areas or for those with smaller lawns.

I'm a little hesitant when it comes to lawn tools because I don't want to be stuck with a subpar product, trying to figure out how to ship it back. I am SO glad I decided to go for this aerator though! It's very well-made - not some cheap, flimsy thing that's going to fall apart into pieces on the front lawn. The handle is adjustable, which is great for someone like me. I recently moved to a new home and the lawn is lackluster, to put it nicely, so I am doing everything I can to spruce it back to life. This aerator is awesome and using it was a breeze!

This works as advertised. Easy to put together, sturdy and extra long handle. I do advise adding some additional weight inside just to assist in getting a good depth without having to push down too hard. Also good idea to do shortly after rains if have a harder or clay soil. Creates holes for water, compost nutrients, etc to soak into the soil easier. Worth raking first if have leaves, will pick them up in the process.
