Works great in small spaces

This product has a major flaw because the handle is not welded strong enough for the aerator. The tool is being used much like a shovel in that you are striking the ground with it. But, this part of the tool is clearly weak and flimsy. Mine broke after a couple of uses.Tool is good in concept. I like the make of it and it accomplishes its purpose. However, the structural flaw makes it useless.

No instructions were included but parts were separately bagged which made it easier to assemble it. It took me less than 10 minutes to install the 12 spikes using the tools that they gave me, the rest took about another 20 minutes, also just using only the tools that they gave me. The base weighs over 3 lb and feels really well made. Once together, it is about 5 lbs. During assembly I avoided nicking myself by putting the inner spikes on first, tightened those up all really well then I worked outside of that. When it was in the 40’s outdoors, I took this outside to see how much effort it would be for me to use this in my yard where I need to aerate. I wasn't able to get this into the dirt at all by stepping on it so I went to the back of my yard where it's the most wet, the ground was heavily saturated with water and then it just took a little effort to push this all the way down. The tool that was included came in handy to clean out the core aerators which got soiled. I think in the spring when the ground starts getting a lot more rain and I will have to wet the yard down quite a bit, after the ground thawed. I think this will work in the area that I needed to work on but this will take a decent amount of time but it works as it's supposed to and I was able to get into the ground. Overall, this is well made and we'll do what it's supposed to with a lot of labor. In the spring I will update this review if it does not work as planned or if it doesn't hold up, but as of right now it appears to do what it's supposed to do here, Aerate the area and removing some of the core dirt

I have a lawn aerator that has 3 self-cleaning cores, and it works great. I saw this and thought with the addition of the spikes and more coring tools, I could get more done with the same effort. Not true. The assembly was easy, and it does seem sturdy, so I was really disappointed when I went to try it. I could not get the coring tools to penetrate the soil once the spikes hit the soil. I tried it out in several areas of the yard, including in standing water from recent flooding, and nope, nothing worked. I tried it where I used my smaller 3 core aerator without any trouble, and nope, would not penetrate the soil once the spikes hit the grass. I do not know what the solution would be. Maybe not so many spikes or have the core tools longer. I don't know, but I would pass on this one.

It’s like they just threw a bunch of stuff in a bag and hoping I would figure out what to do. There were no instructions included and seemed like extra things I didn’t need. A random piece of plastic that I have no idea what its purpose is or if it even goes to this. I had trouble putting it together and kinda gave up but my husband messed with it and got it put together. Once you figure it out it functions as what it’s supposed to do although I still have a bunch of random pieces left over that I’m not sure go to it or not.

It was easy to put this together - the pieces go together without any issues and I'm not worried about it coming apart on me.Using this was really easy - I only did a test section because it's still a little too early in the season where I live to start on my grass maintenance and reseeding project.I like the different sizes of pokey things - plugs? cores? Having them in one tool is nice.

I love gardening, but we live in an area with plenty of trees and hard, red clay. Trying to grow grass is like leaving a dinner plate with seeds outside. Every time it rains, the seeds quickly wash away.Putting this together was easy. All tools needed were included and it only took about 15 minutes to assemble, without using directions.Overall, I'm happy with the quality. The metal tubing could be thicker, but it still feels substantial enough for everyday use. The current weight also keeps the tool fairly lightweight.I like the padding grips on the handle. They have a non-slip, padded surface to help prevent calluses. The spikes are sharp and will punch through the red clay well. This tool will also work well in my flower bed, which has small river stones and weed netting covering it. The dirt has become compressed and short of pulling it all up, I'm hoping this will allow me to help decompress the compacted soil with much less effort. One word of advice, during assembly, start with putting the center spikes in first. Be sure to tighten them before installing the outer rows, to protect your hands.
