My dog has had this toy for 6 months now, and it is still in good condition.My dog is a 75 lbs golden retriever.We are not using it to play in the water, so I don't know if it works well in the water.The toy is really strong and this is the preferred toy of my dog. I am going to buy another one. This toy has the good quality of Kong products. I recommend it.I am editing my review, because I purchased a new one (The red and white one) and I gladdly noted that the product was modified around the rope eyelet to avoid the dog to damage it. Now it is a perfect product.

This is a well made water resistant not water proof search and retrieve product. Not chew proof though. But it isn’t advertised as chew proof . So I would just watch that the dog doesn’t gnaw on it 😁
