It’s worth the money for a starter kit. The ball that comes with it was destroyed within five minutes. The duck bumper is holding up well with training. I do like the plastic ball on the end so it’s pretty easy to hold when in use.

so we got this because we wanted to make sure she can enter and retrieve via water.this worked perfectly - I can confirm the duck does in fact float in open water! haha. we aren't using this as a toy though, but I can see how perfect it'll be as a toy.its holding up well from repeated retrievals in a bunch of different lakes. the string attached definitely allowed for a far fling into the open water - this is most helpful for sure.100% recommend. oh. there's a ball though that comes with it, but we gave it to her as a toy instead of a retrieve. can't confirm if that one floats... but the duck definitely does!

My dog is getting by on her looks. She serves no real useful purpose. She is in theory anyway, a retriever. I got her interested in the duck-dummy and she took off after it and brought it back gently! I couldn't have taught her to do it any better. Can't wait to take her up to a lake and let her pluck it out of the water. It's probably a great training tool but for us, it's just another toy but my pup loved playing with it.

My floof is a labrador retriever. So I know deep down inside him he has a desire to do labrador retriever things. I picked out this duck dog toy to see if he’s capable of more than cuddles and rolling around looking adorable. Because he’s so curious about the ducks at the beach, I thought he’d like to work on retrieving a duck!This dummy toy feels durable and looks like a real duck. It’s made for throwing and is a good weight for distance throwing. It floats well and doesn’t seem to take on water. We haven’t taken it to the lake yet, but he played with it in his pool and so far so good. While I won’t be hunting ducks with him, I can see that this item would be ideal for such training.

I bought this toy for my cocker spaniel puppy. She may be weighs 8 pounds and the bird was destroyed in 10 minutes. I’ve had training birds in the past with much bigger dogs that lasted months. Very disappointing.
