The Pennington Aquagarden Ice Vent pond heater has been specially designed for water gardening applications incorporating innovative energy-saving technology. So you can be assured of winter protection for your fish and aquatic life.
BENEFITS OF AN ICE VENT POND HEATER
Ponds do not need to be heated or ice-free during cold weather. However, it is essential to retain an ice-free area on the pond’s surface to allow toxic gases to leave and for life-giving oxygen to get in. The Ice Vent pond heater is specifically designed to retain an ice-free zone (vent) that supports fish and aquatic life in the pond through the coldest times of the year.
Ice vent pond heater utilizes a unique heat convection design. This means the Ice Vent requires the minimum of energy to maintain an ice-free vent in temperatures as low as minus 20°F.
The Pennington Aquagarden Ice Vent Pond Heater has been designed to be weatherproof, so it can be installed in a range of outdoor situations safely.
From a position that is safely accessible, float the Ice Vent on the surface at arm’s length from the edge of the pond (close to the deepest part of the pool if possible). It does not need to be in the middle, or the deepest part of the pond to work effectively.
Ideally, position the heater prior to freezing weather. If the pond is frozen, create an ice-free area using warm water. Do not use the Ice vent to break the ice, or forcefully crack the ice as this will stress the fish. Do not position on top of the ice. The heater must be floating evenly in the water to operate correctly.
The Ice Vent pond heater is an ideal option for ponds with a volume of up to 1200 US gallons. However, for larger ponds, it is recommended to use multiple Ice Vent pond heaters to ensure effective protection during freezing weather.
