I bought this to keep my horse water from freezing and it works perfect. The water is at a perfect temperature that horses like not cold, just warm.It reaches a certain temperature and shuts off automatically and comes back on when it should. Its worth every penny,I recommend it and shipping was super quick

This has worked great all winter in our smaller Rubbermaid trough. Keep the ice off the top, when it really gets really cold (-20 or colder) ice forms on the top but not over where the heater is.

worked okay for a couple weeks then I unplugged it and plugged it back in when I was doing some cleaning/shoveling in the coop and it hasn't worked since.

Was placed in a livestock water bowl in mild winter temp (-4C to -17C) and kept popping the breaker. Breaker box is new within last 5 years, no other devices connected to same breaker.

So far it's working just fine in the -24c weather.I've even been unplugging it overnight since the birds don't use it at night and plugging it back in come morning. Melts the ice quick enough to be effective.

This has kept the water thawed all winter so the animals have water available even at 10 below.

90°F is far too high a shut-off temperature.Animals that share water can deposit bacteria when they drink, and with very warm water and food particles, you basically have a Petri dish.Should be on at about 35° and off at about 40° — and should have a remote temperature sensor.

This water heater will make a nice paper weight but it will only last in the water for two days before it shorts out your electrical system.I have not figured out how to get them to take it back and refund me. They keep telling me how to fix it or replace it.

This was supposed to "automatically" keep my bird bath thawed only in cold snaps, but functions more like a bird hot tub. At least it seems sturdy. I have just bought a temperature-controlled electrical outlet to hopefully keep the bird bath heater from running 24/7/365.

This was a life saver last winter for my outside animals. Kept it in a child's small swimming pool filled with water for my dogs and goats. They had unfrozen water every day.

This keeps the water for my goats very warm, almost too warm. I probably should get a bigger bucket and then it would be fine. I am not sure of longevity because I have only used it for about three weeks, but so far it is working fine. The only complaint I have is that it makes a loud sound every few minutes. Not sure if it is supposed to do this or not. Just hope it doesn't electrocute my Otis and Ollie!

What a relief! Finally a tank heater that can keep water open in Wisconsin that isn’t 1500 watts! We don’t need to boil the water just keep it from freezing and at $3.00 a day to run the 1500 watt versions these 250 watt heaters are a huge improvement! Thank you!
