Works well. heavy so it stays in place. Like the long cord too.

I liked that it kept the water from freezing in the birdbath

This heater seems well built and sits flat. I like that it doesn't have a lot of nooks and crannies to clean off algae buildup. The cord is plenty long which is why I chose this one over a couple others. I am not sure how it will work during a sustained cold snap to keep a stock tank from freezing over since the picture shows a film of ice in my shallow bird bath and the temp was about 28 degrees for a couple hours that morning. Our winter hasn't been as cold as usual to test how reliable this heater will be long term.

This de-icer is being used in our 12-gallon chicken waterer. It fit easily inside, and has so far prevented any trace of ice from forming on any part of the waterer.

The product matches the description, is easy to use, and the cable is long enough. A good helper in the household. I recommend the seller.

I had ordered one of these from a different company before and it was an absolute dud. I wanted to try again as I have a small pond (more of a puddle) and it needs some heat to keep it from freezing over so the yard animals have some readily available drinking water. I plugged this in, tossed it in, and we've hit 23 degrees over night here yet and zero signs of frost. I'm pretty pleased over all.

This was EXACTLY what I needed. I wanted a de-icer to keep the 30 gallon basin in my water feature from freezing so I could run it year round. This little heater is the only thing standing between our harsh winter and my fountain pump. The 10 foot cord is plenty long but unfortunately I need another 3 feet of extension to reach my GFCI outlet. Hopefully this won't impact the performance too negatively. The temperature sensor is built-in so it only needs to turn on when the temp drops. This saves me from having to add my own temperature sensor switch. I'm also hopeful that since much of the basin is below the frost line here that the 250W will be enough to keep the water flowing. I will update this review once we hit our first overnight temps below freezing.
