HQRP Rotary Switch 4-Position 3-Speed 120V-250V

Compatible With Rotary Switch 4-Position 3-Speed 120V-250V, 10A Fan Heater Speed Selector. This switch can be used with electric oven, juicer, electric heater, blower, range hood, humidifier, massage equipment, heaters and other appliances. Easy quick connect wire termination for quick and painless installs (just strip your wire and push it in the proper terminal location). Please pay attention at the time of start electric motors momentary consume much more current than the motor's normal full load running current; therefore, we do not recommend using the switch for motors whose normal full load running current is greater than 3A, as this may lead to unreliable use. HQRP 4-Position 3-Speed Rotary Switch is used in fans, portable heaters, humidifiers. The switch works well, is very easy to install and has a solid feel. This is a four port switch. Most fans have a six port switch, so in customer reviews below you can find wiring diagram how to rewire from 6 wire old switch to 4 wires new switch.

This switch saved an expensive fan from using it's variable speed.

Wire nut Neutral to Neutral togetherLine L Speed 3 Knob White line down = offSpeed 1 Speed 2Numbers are marked on back of switch. "L" (Line) is power from cord on the narrow side of the plug. The wide side of plug is neutral. There is no neutral position on the switch, so you just use a connector or wire nut to tie the two neutral wires together and bypass the switch. Also you can go about 6-7 pages down and look at "Alex 4/10/2019" and see a better viewing with photos.

I have a vintage 1980’s Patton high velocity fan and recently the original switch broke. Bought this and it is an EXACT replacement for the original. Same size and same terminal markings. I had it installed in about 10 minutes and it works perfectly.

Switch on my ancient Hampton Bay shop fan was vibrating to off or lower speeds. Original (heavy duty)switch is probably over 40 years old. Only time will tell if this one holds up. Quality is OK for modern tech. Was easy to install.

Works great, hat to file out a very small amount of metal to ensure a smooth fit. You don't want to be rough putting this in because you may damage plastic threads. The only down side is the white position line on the switch will not line up with the off, low, medium, high selections. It doesn't matter because it still selects the speeds you want, it just doesn't align with this fan. Most important part of this is the wires slide into the slots so there is no soldering required. Just use a small nail to push down on the copper to remove each wire from your old switch. Before you remove the wires write down the wiring color to the corresponding number on the switch. For the Master Fan it's Black wire to L port, red wire to port 3, white wire to port 2 and blue wire to port 1. I suspect this order applies to all 4 wire switches. So for my fan off is technically on the high fan speed selection and it then moves beyond that for additional speeds.

I'm a licensed electrician and in my opinion this is a very cheap product. Cheap push in connections that barely hold the wire. Doubtful it will last very long. Feels like made in China stuff you would get from ebay or alibaba.
