1/8" (Dia.) Double Flute Straight Bit with 1/4" Shank
From the Manufacturer
Freud's precision ground carbide bits have a grain size smaller than other grades, and titanium is added making them impervious to chemical attack. Promoting safer woodworking is the reason Freud made a commitment to develop anti-kickback router bits. Bits are computer balanced to insure vibration-free operation at speeds that are a safe margin above the typical 22,000 RPMs of most routers. Freud's philosophy is woodworkers should expect safety, not pay for it. Cut diameter 1/8-inch, cut length 3/8-inch, shank diameter 1/4-inch.

This bit is durable and performs well. It’s a big upgrade from the cheap bit that came with an inexpensive router bit set.

As a homeowner and tinkerer a router is a useful thing to have, and Freud bits have been my go too after a less than satisfactory experience with another brand. While they are not cheap, they appear well made and cut cleanly under normal working conditions, and this itty bitty 1/8 guy is no exception.

I am an intermediate woodworker and have in the past resorted to cheaper straight bits only to be disappointed by poor quality and products that don't last very long. This is my third Freud bit and I find the quality far superior to any other bit I have owned. This bit cuts clean with ease, no more tear out or burnt edges. I am proud to say I will be a Freud customer for life and will always seek out a Freud bit as my first choice, only straying if they do not have a product for my application.

Like at least one other review stated, this thing will try to murder you right out of the package. It is super sharp which is a good thing but be careful when removing it from its lair.Me: I'll be super careful removing this thing since I already know someone else bled ahead of meThe bit: You won't be careful and I'll draw blood from you in the first 15 seconds. One bloody paper towel later, I got the thing removed form it's case.Used it the next day to cut some grooves in 1/2 birch plywood and it went through with no issues and no tear out or splintering. Have always bought Bosch up until this one and I think I may convert to Freud.

So far so good. Cuts clean but leaves a bit of sawdust jammed in channel

Needed to cut about 15’ worth of grooves 1/8” wide x 1/4” deep. Ordered a set of bits that included a 1/8”, and it broke about 6” into my first cut. Ordered several of these, thinking I might need more than one to get the job done, and only needed the one. A single bit did the whole job, and is still in great shape. Very impressed with quality.

Its definitely sharp ! sliced my thumb wide open trying to remove it from the package. Good quality but I didn't want to use pliers that may damage the edge. The manufacturer should make it easier to remove from the package or at least expose the shank so pliers can be used

I use these bits for router inlays done in wood. Work very well and are nice and sharp out of the box. I tend to make more sawdust than finished product but these bits are excellent quality and hold up well thanks to being carbide. Slice through hard maple, ebony and any other hardwood I've put them to with no issues. I use this size for the "larger" sections of material removal and the smaller 1/16" for detail work; both hold up fine and work exactly as they should.
