This tool cuts much better than scissors especially if you need to cut straight long lines. It will not leave scissor marks as it cuts continuously. It has a 2Ah rechargeable battery that will last around 4-5 hours. It can cut up to ¼” of PVC sheets, rubber or carpet, which is very impressive.It has a USB-C port for charging and a small red LED charging indicator. It came with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and an extra blade. Blades are standard and can be purchased separately. Boot has a sharpener block mounted on the blade side. You have to press on the safety switch with your thumb on top of the tool and squeeze the trigger under the handle to start the motor. I tested it on a package box and it cut it like butter with an impressive speed and in a straight line.

This was great for cutting up thinner materials such as Amazon boxes, thinner garment leather, etc. It did struggle when cutting some of thicker boxes I had, but I wasn't expecting miracles. A great way to save your hands.

As many Amazon Prime users, I get a lot of cardboard that needs to be broken down for the recycle bin. I have gone through a few different versions of this tool to help with that job. My favorite one I cannot find the correct blades for it to replace them and I used it so much the blade got beyond use. This rotary cutter works very well. Almost as good as my original one. I was pleased to see that it came with a replacement blade, but still cannot find the right size if I need to order more. I have tried sharpening these blades myself, but could never quite get them to work as well as the do originally.I like the ergonomics of this tool as it sits up so your hand does not tend to be directed into the cardboard which can leave little cuts like paper cuts. The action is very smooth and once you start rolling you can just cut all the way through standard thickness cardboard without a problem. It does not work that well on the thicker cardboard, like the stuff my wood lathe was packaged in. But so far only my original rotary cutter would go through that type of stuff. I have not tried it on anything other than cardboard as that is what it will be used for mostly.This charges up quickly and a green LED indicator light will let you know when it is fully charged. I am still running on the first charge I gave it, so I would say that it lasts for a long time.I like the safety feature of the double switch so that it will not accidentally turn on. I do not have little kids around that will play with this so not really something I need, but for others that do have little inquisitive minds around you can rest assure this is safe. I have swapped out many of these types of blades and this one seems no different than any other for the process. I cannot speak to the longevity of this tool or the blade for that matter, but I have already cut up about 20 carboard boxes and it is still going strong. One thing I have noticed is that if you can avoid cutting through the tape or labels on the boxes it will not gum up your blades. However, if you do just use a little Goo Gone or Alcohol on a Q-Tip and clean it off you should be fine. The self-sharpening function will not work if it gets gummed up with adhesive.So far, I am happy I ordered this cutter and hope that it will last for a long time. As of now I can definitely recommend this product.....
