Definitely good quality and holds the weight, but I would suggest possibly getting a funnel. I thought it would possibly come with it but it does not. I used half sand half water to reach the maximum weight.

Purchase this hoping that it would hold my 11 ft cantilever umbrella in place however that is not the case. I had to augment it with additional weight that does not give an attractive a look. For the money charged for these four pieces of plastic you would hope that they would do a better job.

Nothings keeps the base together so you end up with a rubbish base. Never again. Awful product.

One sqare had a hole in an awkward place to patch. The unit was not compatible with the umbrella I purchased. I had to makke a new base to accomodate my umbrella! Otherwise it worked out!

If you are like me and have lost faith in Ikea's ability to deliver SVARTÖ - this base will probably work better than Ikea's original. The only issue is that one of the plugs is leaking water. I was going to buy sand anyway, but I have to do it quicker.

We have a very large and heavy deck/hot tub umbrella. We are having a hard time finding a stand which will support the umbrella. While this weighted stand seemed to be a good fit, once we opened it we realized there was no way to get it around the umbrella and feel like it would provide stability. So we returned it. Under other applications it may work for you but in our situation it didn't. It was made of study material and would be as heavy as it stated. Just need to look it over and make sure it will work for what you need.

We get some big storms all summer, and then follow it up with hurricanes. While I didn't chance the hurricanes, the base held my 11ft cantilever umbrella through some serious storms. I used sand, and was planning on adding water if needed, and haven't had to.

We had the traditional two very heavy sand bags that held our large umbrella. These three panels are so much easier to move and set up than those heavy sand bags. Best purchase.

We were gifted a huge off set umbrella and bought these to weight it down they are awesome!! We filled them with water so we can just empty in the winter and put them and the umbrella away. They are big so make sure you have space for them. Very sturdy and well made.

Fill it with water is by far the easiest way to get these things heavy enough to hold an umbrella from blowing away. The whole, where you could potentially add sand as well is very small, so in that case, you would need a large funnel with a small tip and sand that is Extremely dry so that it flows easily. I tried filling it with sand, but the sand was just too damp and it was nearly impossible to get it to go in to the plastic squares however, just filling it with water and using the four squares held my umbrella from blowing away all summer in my backyard .
