I've always wanted to have a portable microscope. I got this Carson mini microscope/Micropic because I trust the brand. I recently bought a Carson monocular and loved it, as well as their travel magnifying glass I bought awhile ago. These two and this microscope are all entry-level lenses, but they outperform most products in their own leagues from the same price point.The optional cover slip is probably my favorite "extra feature" because a lot of portable microscopes don't have this. It makes it easier to view the slides one-handed. But the 240x magnification is amazing. The specimen look sharp and the color saturation is pretty good.I wish the phone adapter is much tighter or has a locking mechanism. The microscope easily detaches from the phone even when I lightly touch it (accidentally). For me, this is the only flaw, but it is a very annoying one.

The microscope comes with a removable stand, which has a slit for a removable slide as well, which is my favorite part of this product because it is removable, you can take it off and simply put the microscope to a surface and look down. I also like the mechanics for how you change the magnification . It is kind of a joystick that you slide from 120x all the way up to 240x. There is also an LED light with 2 brightness settings, which is absolutely necessary. I am only giving this 4 stars because you shouldn't expect to see a whole universe through this, you can 100% see things very close up that you would be othwrwise unable to with the naked eye, but it has its limits, and I also left one star out because I do not think this would survive more than one drop from a few feet. it does not seem very durable, which is okay for a microscope, but not so much for a pocket microscope.

The portability makes it easy to bring with you as you venture out. There are a couple adjustments that help you focus clearly. The light is a must and really brings the scoped image to life. I used mine to look at a $100 bill to verify its authenticity , It proved to be real and it sure was convenient to just pull it out and zoom in on what I needed to see. If you like zooming in past what you can see on your own, you would like this...

This didnt work great at all. Wouldnt stay attached to my phone like it said it would, it's too heavy to stay attached and fell off every time. The app is also buggy and didnt work correctly. The magnifier isnt very clear either.
