This past summer I signed up for a week-long camping trip in Washington State, near the Canadian border. The organizers required all campers to bring bear whistles to warn other campers of animal sightings. This whistle is solidly made and loud enough to carry for a good distance. It included a bear bell, which hikers clip to their backpacks to warn bears of their presence. The bell can be snapped out of the way so it doesn't make noise when you don't need it, a very handy feature.

Love the little “cow” bell. After seeing a bear I bought this key ring to keep with me when I hike alone to let the animals know I’m coming!

As someone who hikes alone, I will feel a little safer knowing that I have the bear bell and the whistle on me.I have not come upon a bear in our Minnesota territory, but I know that they are out there. The whistle is for emergency use if I get lost or hurt.

Purchased these for trip to Wyoming. We heard the bear population was larger now and we are on the way to Yellowstone and the Tetons. Great buy!!

The bell arrived on time and in perfect condition. I love that a magnet can silence the bell easily.
