We used these twice walking the dogs. At some point during the 2nd walk the clapper fell out of BOTH bells. Not sure exactly where so couldn't even try to reassemble. Returning. Don't buy. Not worth it.

I use these when I walk on our local trails and they work well. The bell is very loud so I'm sure any and all wildlife is very aware of where I am when I'm passing through.The whistle sounded decent but didn't make it more than 2 weeks but also, I did have it clipped to my waist carabiner so... I'd say it would most likely last longer if it was on something that didn't experience as much motion. I walk well over 15k steps a day with work and the trails so it's a lot of wear and tear on most of my stuff.Bells-10/10Whistles-8/10

I wanted this bear whistle and bell for camping. I expected this whistle to have a unique high pitch sound, something substantially different from the average whistle. I wasn't too impressed by the whistle. The bell sounds okay. It has a soft sound but just loud enough to be heard by others, including animals. This bell and whistle comes with a hook/clip device that can be placed onto our backpack or bags, to hold the bear bell in place. Overall, I think this bear whistle and bell is pretty mediocre. I was actually quite disappointed (more so with the whistle). I may recommend the bear bell however, not this whistle to others.

the clappers on the inside of the bear bells were screwed into the bell. After our first 5 miles hike, the bells were attached to ur backpacks. Both bells the clappers had become unscrewed from the bell base a fell out on the trail. Very poor design . the whistles work great but obviously they don't "announce" your presence on the trail.
