This stuff is ok but kind of pricey. I guess if you need something like this for packing somewhere than this will probably be ok. I can buy a bunch of canned stuff for the price of this though. This does taste ok. Really easy to cook. Just boil some water, dump it in, and wait. This is supposed to be 2 servings but I almost polished this off on my own. I am a fairly big guy though. I work hard and play even harder. I do kind of with that I didn't eat this and instead just stored it away with my preps. Think this would work pretty good for that. This food is 5 stars.

I like to keep a few of these in different flavors, just in case. They are also great to take in the car for long trips. They are awesome for camping and hiking as well. I haven't eaten this yet, but I have tried it in the past and I was very happy with it. It's best by date is 2029, so I'll be able to keep it for a while and then I'll make it up and eat it.

A step up from canned food, but a step below homemade, this beef stew is perfect for a super quick and on the go meal made with real quality ingredients. It has better nutrients and macros than your standard canned fare with realistic ingredients that AlpineAire states only went through a freeze drying period. Overall, the taste of these are satisfactory and ends up similar to a canned soup but of course you add the last ingredient of water. I can foresee this being great for camping, outdoor trekking and places where cooking is a challenge. However, it is true that it is a bit pricier than other counterparts. I would pay the premium for the ingredients and quality but I understand others may not.

I wasn't sure what to expect having never eaten a freeze dried entree before. The instructions were straightforward and simple. It took less than 15 minutes to prepare not counting the time to boil the water. The resulting entree was a good solid meal. Considering that it's a beef stew that was ready in 15 minutes and was in an envelope I think the flavor was pretty good.Nutritionally it's a good amount of protein at 14g per serving. If you're going to be walking miles on a trail this may be a good addition to your backpack. The ingredients list is a little long but I would say everything is pretty recognizable as real food. There are a few additives but common ones that are generally recognize this safe. The expiration date Best buy date was April 2029 so plenty of time to use up.

I like that this meal appears to really be made with true, actually ingredients. Like real food ingredients. I love that it's made in the USA. I just didn't really love the experience of eating it while testing at home... but maybe that is to be expected. I mean, it was perfect fine, and you do get a nice big portion... but I just didn't LOVE it. It seemed to be overwhelmingly "tomato" rather than "beef", in my opinion. However, I full recognize that context matters. If I were tucking into this AlpineAire meal after a full day of hiking in cold weather, holy moly it would be fantastic. Hot and satisfying. Perhaps that's all that really matters. Eating it at home is okay, but eating it on the trail, I'm certain, would be excellent.

I know the serving suggestion says it is two servings but this is definitely a one person meal in my opinion. These little bagged meals are great to pack on a trip camping, On the road, whatever. If you don't want to cart around heavy cans for a hot meal, this is your ticket. The flavor is good albeit a bit salty. It is super easy to make all you need to do is add boiling water to this and close it up and wait. I would say you may need a spoon too but I have just drank it out of the bag and it wasn't too messy.

I like that this dehydrated meal is ready to eat with just hot water, so perfect for hiking, camping, or emergency preparedness. There's nothing exceptional taste wise but it is definitely edible so a nice comfort food treat for any of the above scenarios when beans and sandwiches are losing their appeal. It's reasonably healthy too with lots of protein and carbs. Maybe 2 servings if there is something served with it to round it out but probably more one if served alone for someone with hearty appetite as 220 calories isn't a ton unless you're looking to eat at a calorie deficit.

This is my first time trying one of these types of dehydrated food pouches, so I went ahead and made it at home to see if it was any good. It does seem like a step up above canned food, and obviously much lighter to carry. You do need a long utensil to eat it straight out of the pouch without making a mess, but I know you can get long camping sporks and spoons and the like for that. But man, why do these things seem to cost an arm and a leg everywhere I look? It's not exactly a gourmet meal, and if you're backpacking and make it in the bag, you're unlikely to be able to safely store the second portion for very long. It'd probably be more cost-effective to look into how to make dehydrated meals yourself.
