I've bought 6 cases of these, I've eaten 4 cases, I got 1 working heater out of 48. Most of them get kind of warm, but they don't work as they should. This is why they are for sale people. It is illegal to sell these unless they are bought at some kind of auction. The reason they would be sold by military: they are defective, i.e. non working heaters.Other than the heaters they are excellent. But price has gone from 166 to 270 in last 2 months.

Ordered late feb 2021 when price was $166 per case (24 meals), not fluctuating up to over $200 a case. Normal and fair pricing for these for years now is about $80 to $90 a box, around $170 a case. Had these in my cart, still do now, and every couple days the price went up and down quite dramatically. Finally bought them at $166 times 2 ($322)and got 4 boxes, 48 meals, with free shipping...works out to $6.91 a meal. Not bad for keeping around for peace of mind for years on end. Shipping was fast and free and cases were properly enclosed, with standard 2 plastic strap bands, red stickers, and manu stamped exactly the same inspection dates as shown in this listing. Double boxed also. Fyi, date pkd is date they were made...ie 8044 translates to 2018 day 44(feburary)...then insp/test date of 2/21(February 2021), 3 years later, they are inspected and normally passed on to consumer market from military/fema etc stickpiles. Thats why so many amazon/ other websites have mres that already are a few years old. A couple weeks ago i consumed a 16 year old mre from a case i bought at least 12 years ago and yes i survived. As long as these stay protected from crazy heat, in a closet for example, these last a very long time. These sopakco mres have the most calories available, with the most extras too...best for use in an actual emergency to keep you alive, and the nsn #'d heaters. Same mres i had in early 90's in the marine corps so you get what you pay for. Having read this far...you decide if setting some food assurance back is a good idea in todays USA and world stage. Hope this helps you make an informed purchase decision...
