Nice to see it was just made this month and not sitting around on a shelf. This will be a good backup if needed. Fast shipping and well packaged

Living in the Oregon Coast, we need to be prepared for the worst and I’m glad for the secure packaging and speedy delivery of my order. These emergency food ration bars meet the US Coast Guard standards and are recommended by our local emergency preparedness officials. Although we have not tried them yet, if we are ever in the situation that these will be needed, I’m sure they will be mighty tasty!

I ordered these in November of 2023 and they were made in October of 2023! These will not expire until 2028! Extremely fresh and well packed. The seller, Storm Emergency and Survival, added some mylar water packs instead of packing material which was clever and much appreciated. Quality is excellent and i will order from this seller again.

Reliable, tasty, and doesn't require a heating source to consume. The best lightweight alternative I have found to pizza in the field.

Advantages: individually packaged/wrapped bars, unlike some (ER bar) that come as one huge chunk requiring an ice pick to break it up, usually into wildly irregular hunks.Disadvantages: excessively sweet-tasting.

The apocalypse won't be so bad after all ! When I decided to try these I figured I'd better eat one then decide if I want this in my "survival" closet. As it turns out I've already gone through a 3 day pack and they are yummy. Nothing wasted though. I "lived" off of nothing but 3 of these bars a day for the entire 3 days and they certainly do eradicate hunger. I accomplished everything I would on any regular day and other than the mental desire for a cheeseburger, I was just fine. It was an interesting 3 days but S.O.S. Rations are now field tested and I am confident they will be a great addition to the long term food storage.....if I can stop eating them that is.PS I did have them with coffee so maybe that was cheating ?

I'm actually in the process of eating only these for 3 days. Kind of a personal challenge. This is day 3 - The Final Day (bum bum bum). The taste is really nice if you like coconut. And I do so score there. The biscuits/cookies are real sweet and that makes sense since the main ingredient is sugar. However they haven't spiked my blood sugar, I've taken my blood sugar 3 times, twice the first day and once yesterday. Each time it was 81 or 82. The whole brick of food weighs 1.6 pounds, there's 9 biscuits/cookies and each one weighs almost 3 ounces. When I opened the package it felt a little greasy and I was looking at a block of food wrapped in thin plastic. I put a knife through one side to cut a third of the cookies away and come to find out each was individually wrapped but semi stuck together. They are wrapped but it's a super thin wrap of plastic.I can't comment on the promotion of thirst because with each cookie I've been drinking 30-40 oz of water. That's key to keeping hunger away. each day so far I've drank about 240 oz of water and 6-7 cups of tea. What I've done is cut the cookies into thirds and for breakfast, lunch and dinner eat 2/3s of a cookie. I save the last third for a after meal snack. that seems to work for the most part until about 4pm when I get hungry and have to wait for it to pass. I've continued to exercise in the morning for about 45 minutes but it's not strenuous exercise. I've noticed in the evenings I'm a little more tired than normal and feel the weight on my eye lids. I normally sleep for 7 hours but last night I think I had a full 8. In the mornings I'm great, I feel fine. It's only in the late afternoons and evenings that I feel tired. Here was my strategy:Breakfast: wait as long as you can. It's almost 9 am and I haven't had it yet. Yesterday I ate it around 9 am and the day before it was 8 am. Eat 2/3s of a cookie. Drink at least 20 oz of water before you eat and while you eat.Snack: again wait as long as you can, yesterday was almost 11 am for me. Again drink water, tea - before and during.Lunch: Wait - yesterday was 1 pm. Drink water before and during.Snack: Wait - yesterday was 3:30 pm. Drink water and tea before and during.Dinner: Wait - yesterday was close to 6 pm. Drink water and tea before and duringSnack: Wait - yesterday was 7:30 pm. Drink water and tea.My experience: I've lost over 6 pounds in 2 days. No ill effects. The first night I felt cold, real cold. I took my temperature and it was 96.1 F. I had to bundle up, drink tea and place the warm cup against my neck to warm me up. Last night I didn't have the same effect but it might have been that I was incorporating a lot of tea into the plan.So buy some, put one in your car, your wife's car, your kid's car. They're great for emergency. And if they're about to expire - live off them for 3 days! :)------Update------I successfully completed the challenge, I ended up losing 9 pounds and felt good the whole time. Aside from the hunger at least. Definitely worth keeping in your cars for emergency!

They don't taste terrible, they're convenient and they arrived in good condition. They're not going to taste great. This is survival food. I opened a package and use them as a impromptu breakfast when I have to run out the door. Again, they don't taste WONDERFUL, but they're acceptable in taste. I just feel good knowing that I'm getting a small balanced meal when I take one on my way out the door to class or work. The primary purpose for these of course is not to use as a quick breakfast. There's far better products for that. I have several packages of these in an emergency "bug out bag" that has about 2-3 weeks worth of e-rations, 2 emergency tents, some emergency space blankets, emergency sleeping bags, a firestarter, a $36 survival knife made of carbon steel, a water filter and flashlight. I also strore two packages in the trunk of my car, although a different brand, along with a 24 pack of bottled water. You never know. And it never hurts to be prepared. I used to live in a desert. So, imagining being stranded with a loved one out in the middle of nowhere in your vehicle and dying of thirst scared me so I thought "better to be prepared than caught unprepared". Starvation isn't as likely, but it's still good to have one or two packages of emergency rations in your car. These are a great choice for such a scenario.I would definitely buy them again. I believe the shelf life is 5 years. But check the package or the advertisement here to see for sure.
