I would have given this water pressure regulator 5 stars, except for one missing component (missing by design). When you change out this regulator, it is best to replace the two flat washers. These two flat washers are crucial for preventing water leaks, and they are a somewhat unusual size so they are not easy to find at your local DIY store. It makes absolutely no sense why Zurn would only provide one flat washer with a new regulator. This is a cheap part, come on guys ! If they start providing two washers, I will revise this review up to 5 stars. In the meantime, I did manage to find a good substitute flat washer that works just fine, at my local ACE hardware store. Danco flat washer ('slip joint washer') stock # 36643 B.Aside from the flat washer headache, replacing the old regulator was easy, and the new one works great.(the old one was leaking at the adjustment screw, which is normal after a number of years)

Long time plumber here. When I bought this I noticed that it would turn up higher than 80. Immediately tried to replace it, but it wouldn't let me because they doubled the price. When I bought this 10 days ago it was $80.00. Now they want $172.00 for the same item. And guess what, the water in the house is starting to hammer now so I know this product was completely defective. What garbage. Just go get one from Lowes now for $140.00. That's what I get for trying to save a buck I guess.

My water pressure was pulsing. This replaced the old unit from 2007.The way my unit was installed in my garage, it wasn't easy. I had to get a new shut-off valve, a pex expansion tool, a few brass fittings and pex tube and rings. If things don't go well, well no water. No leaks on second try.

Old PRV can’t hold static pressure, after replacing, new valve holds well at 50psi which is factory default setting. The old valve only has Wilkins 1” mark on the body, and no model number. Successfully replaced with this one, length matches the same. Both end of new PRV have internal and external threads offering installation flexibility - very good.

I called out the water company to check the water pressure going into my house. The technician said it was probably the pressure reducing valve that was going bad after testing it. We went to Home Depot to look for one but they didn't have it but Amazon did. We found the exact one that was installed in our house. We ended up buying the Amazon Warehouse item, where it was missing a nut but we reused the existing one to connect the new one to the pipes. It was cheaper than buying a brand new one and looked brand new when I received it. It was just missing a nut. It works flawlessly. Glad my husband talked me into getting it instead of calling a plumber.

This is the exact brand (Zurn Wilkins 1" NR3XL Pressure Reducing Valve) I had on before so replacement was super easy. No welding needed just had to purchase an additional washer for the opposite end that screws on our existing inlet valve pipe. I found the perfect washers at Lowes in a 2 pack since this only came with one washer for the one side. We found that having it screw on both sides makes replacement easiest. Our last PRV lasted around 7-10 years we believe. Here in AZ our water pressure is 105 PSI. We found the product needed replaced or a replacement kit when we heard the clanging pipes in the house then the softwater sprung a leak from the higher pressure so it was time to replace. The nice thing about this brand Zurn Watkins they have easy instructions on their website zurn.com or search YouTube videos to assist in putting it on correctly. Total time took 30 to 45 Mins to flush the main line and arrange the tools need to complete the job.
