Make sure you use some kind of liquid luck on the threads. They will loosen up overtime causing the valve to leak. Also the piercing valve should not be used when vacuuming out a system. It does not pierce the tubing making a whole large enough to get a good vac. Also charging can be in the issue

I call this a tool because they really shouldn't be left on permanently because they can leak over time. The price is good and works as advertised. I'm in appliance repair and I only use these to tap a system to get pressure readings or to quickly charge a customer up until the parts for the job come in. A real access should be brazed in once you are ready to complete the repair.
