The kit worked well, but charging $200 for less than $10 in parts is outrageous!I installed a pool in Texas in Summer 2023, and during brief freezes, the line froze up both times, causing the relief valve to break. On the bright side, it's an easy repair. A local plumber quoted me $400–$450 for the repair job. I understand that these parts aren’t high-volume sellers, making inventory a challenge, but a shoebox could hold 20+ kits—manufacturers should consider bulk production to lower costs.The entire RPZ unit costs around $350, so it’s frustrating that the repair kit is priced so high just because they can charge it. For those who have no choice but to pay this inflated price, rest assured that the product does work and is easy to replace.I considered trying an off-brand kit for $79.95, but reviews mentioned it wasn’t a perfect fit—though it did prove that a more reasonable price is possible. If you're replacing rather than repairing your RPZ backflow, it’s worth checking which brand offers the most affordable repair kit before choosing your unit or do what I am doing now and my pool building company (Premier Pools in Austin) should have done which is install heat tape, but they didn’t. Lesson learned and adding the heat tape ($25).

I first tried saving $30 on an aftermarket (chineesium) kit. it did not fit well, and failed to seal up and operate properly. iT, is getting one star. This Watts kit is more $, but well worth it! The pieces fit in place with little effort, and sealed up and operated perfectly instantly! I'll reccommend this kit to anyone having a reduced pressure zone backlow preventer that needs a kit installed every time!

As others have mentioned, this kit uses genuine Watts parts and is not a cheap clone, so the parts actually fit and work properly. I'll agree the kit price is way too high for what you get, but when you consider how much you'd have to pay to replace the entire valve you still end up saving a lot after purchasing the kit and fixing the valve yourself (pretty easy to do). It would cost hundreds of dollars more to hire a plumber to replace the valve.

The Watts 3/4” LF009M3QT backflow prevention device is mandated by the City of Vancouver for new property development, and they installed it above ground with no insulation to protect it. During freezing weather, the plastic valves inside cracked and burst. Returning home days later, water was found shooting out of the relief valve opening, eroding the soil and gushing into the street. It is truly baffling why the city would mandate such a device, yet install it without insulation! Broken valve fragments were retrieved from the device and from the mud underneath it. This repair kit successfully repaired the device without having to remove it from the ground. Just make sure the water supply has been shut off and depressurized before attempting repair!

Fixed my leaking Watts 009M3 QT backflow preventer. Disassembly and reassembly are easy to complete videos easily accessible through Watts website. Was just going to replace valve initially since the old one was clearly broken but ended up having to replace both checks too. Happy I ordered this complete kit. Had whole replacement done in under 30 minutes. It is pricey when you consider the cost of a new back flow preventer but tin my opinion would require a lot more knowledge and skill to install. This was an easy DIY.

My Watts 009M3 leaked every year at the beginning of the season. It would take several days of turning the valve on and off to finally get it to work. After purchasing this repair kit and installing it, the problem is resolved. So disappointed I did not do it sooner. Installation is pretty simple. Remove a few bolts from the valve; remove and replace. The process took me about 15 minutes.
