  • Hand Reamer: The reamer drill bit can be hand operated by use of a wrench, T-handle wrench, extension rod, drill chuck. Used for light cut, repair work, removing stock or simply for enlarging holes.
  • Straight Flute Reamer: Allows chips and debris to escape easily from the hole, well suited for most applications in shallow cuts. Can achieve the required roundness, straightness, and concentricity of the hole.
  • Uncoated Reamer Drill Bit: Features just the base substrate without any additional coatings, used on a wide range of materials. Tapping fluid or cutting oil can be used to lubricate the reamer and workpiece to help reduce friction and increase tool life.

Hand Reamers

9CrSi (Alloy Tool Steel) Tool

The 9CrSi steel is a low alloy tool steel and low speed cutting tool steel. It has high hardening capacity and high tempering stability. Good for wide ranges of applications.

Straight Flute

Straight flute tools allow chips to collect in the flutes when cutting. Well suited for most applications in shallow cuts. For reaming cylindrical shape holes.

Easy to Use

Can be hand operated by use of wrenches. Great for light cut, repair work, or simply for enlarging holes. Always keep reamers clean, and used with machine oil for long service use.

Wide Applications

Used for handicraft processing, and bore machining. Suitable for accurate reaming in aluminum, cast iron, copper, plastic, wood, and other soft materials.

Cut and remove the thin layer metal on hole surface that has been processed, mainly to improve the precision of holes and reduce the surface roughness.Used for semi-finish machining and finish machining of holes.

Tips

Reamers are with one or more cutter teeth. Finished product can be smooth, intact and more beautiful. Reamers can be used to process holes in small cuts based on guiding function, such as: holes with diameter tolerance in ≤IT8; holes with requirements in surface roughness (≤Rz12 generally); holes with requirements in roundness tolerance; holes with requirements in cylindricity; stepped holes (different diameter holes on the same axis); series holes (diameter holes on the same axis) with requirements in high coaxality.

I believe I needed this and used this to ream the pilot bearing on a British diesel engine, but now I cannot recall. I was fitting a Toyota Celica transmission.

Worked well. I’m sure it wouldn’t like a harder metal but to ream some bronze bushings it worked great and left a nice finish

Had to resize a hole from 7.3mm to 8mm for a press fit. I went slowly by hand and was able to achieve the fit I needed.Could not have asked for better.

I needed a 10 mm reamer for one small job. I was hesitant to but this due to some negativefeedback. But, as it was much cheaper than most ,I took chance. Now, I used this on aluminumnot steel so it cut easy. You just need to go slow and keep it lined up on the pre drilled hole. The predrilled hole must be one size (1/64) smaller than the finished bore. The reamer is not a drill and is used only to clean up the bore

This reamer arrived undamaged and is precisely 8mm. I have only used it on soft materials and hard plastics, but it is holding up well and I expect to get a great deal of use from it.
