I bought a old (very old!) industrial metal lathe that had seen plenty of use and abuse. Unfortunately, the tail stock ram was about the worst. I was able to find a new old stock roughing reamer on a popular auction site, but still needed a finishing reamer to finish the job. This reamer was not so sharp I could have gotten away without the roughing reamer. But once the roughing was done, this reamer did do a good job of cleaning up the taper with enough precision to get repeatable results. All in all, it worked. And it saved a century-old lathe from the scrap yard.
