This hernia belt has been a real assist until hernia repair surgery. It is easy to wear and works to hold and stabilize the hernia. It enabled me to walk without discomfort. It is shown as being worn over underwear, but it is best to wear under and directly against the area. Wearing it under underwear minimizes interference with urination access.

The belt is really adjustable, but it's made so that it can be used bilaterally, either right or left. The issue is that the unneeded side can't be removed. The image shown isn't an accurate depiction. It's more like a really tight jock strap. You won't want to wear it unless absolutely necessary, but when you need the support, this works.

Stinks to have a hernia, but this belt has allowed me to return to normal activities while waiting for surgery. The belt is high quality, comfortable, and most importantly works. Very easy to put on and wear all day. Thanks for a nice quality product.

I will be brief. I bought one before for 5 bucks at a thrift store and used it for 30 minutes. It did not work very well. This one I read a lot of reviews and saw others with my similar experience. Yes it is expensive but I have learned that walking is far harder on a hernia than lifting. I had no idea. I walk over 15,000 a day at work. I have 1 1/2 months until surgery (Hernia repair of an old same Hernia) I was almost not able to work as time went on. The last few days I would walk with my hand in my pocket holding the Hernia.Now. WOW! Like as if I do not have a Hernia. I feel I will now make it to surgery instead of a earlier Emergency room with some general surgeon "hey , I have done a few of these" kind of thing. This is very important. I have had other adnominal surgeries. I need a specialist that has research my previous issues and CT/Ultra Sound/MRI scans. This $50 dollar item is a very small price to pay to keep me making the monies while I wait for the FMLA and Surgery.

Easy to put on. Adjustable velcro, fits me perfectly (hips 34"). Would probably fit someone with hips 1 to 2 inches smaller or larger. I'm a small woman, 5'1" tall, slim, 103 lbs. No need to step out of it for toilet routine. As long as I'm wearing it, I can do anything without pain, including ab exercises and Pilates. Doesn't bind. If my butt were bigger it would cause bulges as the leg straps are not as adjustable as the hip strap. It isn't to be worn against bare skin, so I'm wearing over workout shorts, thin long underwear or leggings. Not flattering; I need to wear baggy clothes over the whole get-up. Not sure who will read this as only 5% of those with inguinal hernias are women. All applies to men as well, & you won't have to worry about it being unflattering as you probably have tight glutes. Product is well made, will hold me over the 8 weeks I had to wait for surgery and the 6 weeks of recovery. Should have bought 2 to have a clean one if I need to wash one.

First off, I am a 51 year old male, small frame, 30" waist. I do not have a labor-intensive job. I most likely got my hernia from doing some overly-strenuous exercises (that'll teach me!). I bought a size small, and it seems to be perfect for me.I bought this belt only a week after discovering I had a hernia. Never having one before, (and not really knowing what a hernia was to be honest), I did some research after feeling "something odd" one day. Got an appointment with my doctor three days later to confirm... and now I am two months away from being able to get the surgery done. Although I do not feel pain, I feel discomfort - and frankly, the sensation weirds me out - and I desperately don't want it to get worse, so I bought this.I have only pros to write about, no cons. I've only been wearing it a few days, so I will update if anything changes over time.1. I chose this because I felt it would be unobtrusive, and I was right. It feels (and wears) very similar to a jockstrap. You wear it over your underwear, and when you have pants/shorts on no one would ever know you have it on.2. Be sure to do your measurements and get the right size. The small was great for me. There is enough wiggle-room to make it as tight or as loose as I need.3. The pad seems to be perfectly shaped for what you need it to do, and it is firm enough to keep everything in place.4. Honestly, I am avoiding heavy exercise until after my surgery, so i can't speak from experience - but the way this thing feels I would bet it would stand up to a good exercise routine. Although, why do that to yourself? Don't make your hernia worse until you can get it corrected. If you are someone who has a labor-intensive job, I would also think this would be great for you.5. It is easy to put on after you get the hang of it on the first try. As stated before, I wear it over my underwear (the instructions clearly tell you to do that). This will keep it clean, and would also help prevent skin chafing from the bands. I can easily urinate without taking it off (I have a right-side version). Naturally, since you're wearing underwear you'd need to remove it to do your other business.I know this is more expensive than other ones on here, and since I haven't used them I cannot say this is better than the others. All I know is that this works perfectly for me. It seems to be really great quality, keeps the hernia totally in place all day without being a bulky device. And think about it - Yes, it might be $20 more than some of the other belts - but that's honestly a meal at a fast food restaurant nowadays. Just go through the drive-thru one less time and you've paid for this upgrade. Also, if you're reading this review because you just found out you have a hernia and you want to help it, please follow my advice. Don't wait! Get this (or another hernia belt) right now. To me the hernia is not only uncomfortable, but after learning WHAT it is I feel weirded out. I want my innards to stay put, and every time I felt it I would get a disturbed feeling. I feel this belt while I'm wearing it, but I would much rather feel the belt than my hernia. Also, since wearing this, I've noticed that even when I'm not wearing it (Sleeping, taking a shower), my hernia doesn't show it's ugly head like it did before - just from even standing or walking. I have to believe this is preventing it from getting worse until I can get my surgery.Anyway, thanks for reading so much. Good luck with your hernia. Get a belt (even if it's not this one) ASAP, and schedule your surgery ASAP. We're only here once, so don't spend your time dealing with this. We've all get better things to do!

After requiring a hernia belt, I did some research and found this one to be of most interest to my needs. After having read some reviews about this belt, I was concerned that it was uncomfortable to wear. Nevertheless, I concluded that this belt was the best of all the choices and so I made my purchase. Upon receipt of the belt, I tried it on. It was not difficult to put on with the velcro patches that held very firmly. It has a slight elasticity, and with the minimal padding, was not uncomfortable to wear under a pair of jeans for work.I read in a few other reviews about the crotch-strap being very uncomfortable. When I examined the crotch-strap, I noticed it does not go all the way up one's crotch. It actually is supposed to slip under one butt-cheek and up the side back to the belt. This gave me a more supporting feel, rather than a g-string feel. The only thing to remember, is that if your hernia can be worked back in temporarily, to do so, as this pushes against that opening in the Inguinal canal to prevent the hernia from pushing through. If you cannot push the hernia back in, do not use this belt with the accompanying pad. Take the foam pad out and then use it, otherwise it will be very painful to wear. This will support a hernia that cannot be pushed back in [severe hernia].I was amazed how well this worked when I wore it to work. I was able to fully resume my work duties and I was able to lift heavy items again. The brace was only slightly uncomfortable for the first day. After that it became virtually unnoticeable. I washed it and it did not lose its comfort level nor its size. All in all, this belt is the best investment I have made and I am confident you will agree you like it too.

Purchased for my husband who has been diagnosed with a very small hernia left from previous surgery. Hernia has been causing aching pain and burning almost daily for which he is taking strong pain killers which have given him stomach upset. Agreed with GP no more surgery to correct this as so small and he has heart condition and terrified of hospitals. When pain at its worse cannot walk or move and spends time in toilet trying to relieve the pain. Delivery of this belt came on sunday two weeks ago. Put the belt on and instantly felt support and a relieving twinge. now pain free. Still worrying that pain may return as he cannot believe something so simple as this has left him pain free and has taken no pain killers. No burning no nothing. Life back on track and has been gardening even trimming 3 feet off a long hedge. He measures 37 inch waist so purchased a medium with fits perfectly. Also removed the foam pad as directed by instructions and replaced with small amount of flat cotton wool. Belt very sturdy and comfortable and would definitely buy again.
