This remote uses a standard 9V battery not a crazy special and expensive 12V.

We had a 40+ year old fan. Finally the remote would not activate the lights. We found just the controller for this fan - it matched by part # with the existing remote. We decided to order the package of the controller + remote as a precaution. Good thing we did. The old remote would not activate the new controller - however the new remote works fine. We have extensive experience in electrical devices so this was easy to install. Good documentation & wiring diagrams. It even included wire nuts & connectors. We should be good for a long time.

All I had to do was program this one just like my old one (there is a little thing to do this inside of the remote near the battery compartment with four numbered levers that you can move) and it worked immediately; it could not have been easier and I was thrilled!

I did not replace the remote stick; stuck with the existing unit and just set the new receiver's DIP switches to match the remote's. Switched off the circuit breaker and swapped out the old receiver for the new one. Not a lot of room up there but, with a few nudges and movement of the wires, it fit and I was able to close up the canopy. Switched on the circuit breaker and used the old remote. The fan (all three speeds) and light work as intended. Fairly cheap fix for the dead receiver (only 14 months old) that came with my Hampton Bay fan. I'll keep the replacement remote in a drawer in case the old one dies.

This remote fixed the issues I was having with my fan. However, the hand unit is bulky and old fashioned in its design.

Our Hampton Bay ceiling fan was purchased in 2017 and has been running nonstop since. It was great that we could get a new remote although we didn't need the receiver.

Was selling my house and of course the remote decided to die. Bought this and popped it in. Worked great. Didn't cost a fortune. Love it.

I would avoid this replacement kit. We bought this kit because our original Hampton Bay receiver started to delay the light and fan from turning on and off. The remote and receiver work ok at first. About a week after the installation the light started to “strobe”, quickly dimming and brightening. We reinstalled the original receiver, we still have a delay in working however the stobing stopped. It should be noted that the original Hampton Bay remote did not work well with the receiver in this kit, it could only turn the lights on and off, unable to control the fan.

We needed an extra remote for our Casa Vieja Desteny ceiling light and fan, which says it is a uc7080t1 or uc7080t remote. If you buy it from the manufacturer, it's $30+. But this remote was half that price, has all the same features, includes a holder, and required no set up. (Fortunately the four pins were already set on the same frequency as our fan). You do need to buy a 9V battery however - none is included
