Our fan is working like new. No idea why the receiver/remote quit working but this product solved the problem. Easy fix. Reading the reviews, I expected to see visible evidence of overheating of the receiver but saw no evidence of overheating. I will follow advice of some reviewers who cautioned to use the remote to power on and off rather than the wall switch. Replacement receiver/remote got my fan working like new.

This remote and receiver get the job done. After my fan quit responding to its remote, I replaced the remote battery. When that didn't help, I bought a new remote; but that didn't help either. Finally, I bought both the remote and receiver. I was concerned because several reviewer had stated that the new receiver would not fit within the fan's canopy. The fit was very tight, but I was able to just squeeze it in. It is worth noting that the dimensions of the new receiver are nearly identical to the original, perhaps a bit thicker, but the wires for connecting it have changed sides. That is, the side with three wires is now the side that used to have two, and vice versa. It was necessary to reroute the house and fan wiring to accomodate the new design. The new receiver responds to both the old and new remotes, and the fan is working again.
