Our old remote was wearing out and this is the brand name replacement. Perfect!NOTE: Remember to keep your old remote so you can see how the switches are set up inside or it won’t work. Open the battery compartment to see the switches.

Dropped the control that came with the ceiling fan in a glass of water. It’s several years old so we were afraid we wouldn’t find an exact replacement. We did! This remote matches perfectly. I think it responds even better than our original. Just keep it away from your drink!

We have three different Minka fan models in our home, and one is not working well. We have to hold the remote, and press it multiple times, up to the fan to get it to work. It’s a pain because you have to run the fan with the remote rather than the wall switch. We thought perhaps it was our remote, so we purchased another. Unfortunately, it is even less effective.. So, I’m not sure how to rate this remote. My guess is our ceiling fan is the issue or it’s a combination of the two components- faulty fan and remote.

Thanks to this new remote, my fan is working again. I was worried that it would be difficult to set up because of some of the reviews I had previously read on older models. My model is about three years old. It took less than one minute for the remote to pick up on the existing frequency, I am extremely happy that this was totally user-friendly.

I called the company to get the correct RCS213 that was not in my manual or on the other remotes in the house that matched this fan. Once I got that, I was able to easily order on Amazon and it arrived and worked perfectly and it came with the battery. I am very thrilled to report that even though I have no idea where the other one disappeared, getting a replacement so easily, was magical. I'm thrilled and this one I am going to mount on the wall so I can check before my company leaves that it's in the holder and not somewhere else. I'm very happy with this price and convenience. Thank you!!

If you have an older Minka-Aire ceiling fan, I recommend calling Minka Group customer service to find out exactly which receiver, wall control, and handheld remote control are compatible with your fan (and whether you need to replace not just the wall control, but also the receiver). For my 17-year-old fans, that's the WCS213 Wall Control Switch, the RCS213 Remote Control Switch, and the P001022100S Receiver (described as Minka Lavery Minka Aire P001022100S Up & Down Light alongside a picture of nuts and bolts), which I can't find now by searching for the part number, but here's the Amazon Smile link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00838Z5BK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Please note the WCS213 wired wall control and RCS213 wireless handheld control do NOT have a button to reverse the direction the fan spins. If you have to get on a ladder to flip a physical switch to reverse the spin direction (should be counterclockwise for a cooling downdraft), you need a receiver, wall control, and handheld control compatible with that type of fan.I use both a wall control and this handheld control with each Minka Aire ceiling fan, but I don't think a wall control is essential; you could just use this handheld control. If a wall control and handheld control (or two handheld controls) are used with the same ceiling fan, they must be set to the same dipswitch code, and that code should be different for each ceiling fan to avoid interference. There's no dipswitch setting in the receiver. You'll set a dipswitch code on the wall control and/or handheld control and follow the instructions to teach the receiver that code, or in other words, to "pair" the receiver with that code so that any nearby wall control or handheld control set to that code will control the fan.The teaching/pairing instructions are basically to 1) turn off the power at the breaker box before you install the receiver and wall switch; 2) with the wall control on/off switch off, flip the breaker back on; 3) at the wall switch, slide the on/off switch on; 4) within a few seconds, press and hold the fan stop button (in the center of the big round multi-button) until the fan's downlight blinks (don't press any other button before the stop button); if the downlight doesn't blink within a few seconds, release the stop button and press and hold it again (if this step fails, you'll have to turn the breaker off again, back on, and try the teaching process anew); 5) release the stop button; and 6) test the wall control to make sure all buttons work properly.A handheld remote control set to the same dipswitch code should then work properly as well. In the absence of a wall control switch, I believe the above procedure can be used to teach the receiver the dipswitch setting using the handheld control instead. Setting a dipswitch code other than the factory default keeps controls for nearby fans from interfering with each other.
