I stripped out the head on a 5/64" hex screw on a very expensive optic. I was a bit apprehensive about using an extractor because I've never used one before, and was concerned about damaging my optic device.I researched the interwebs until I was confident enough to give it a go. The best advice I can give anyone is to do some homework because this kit does not come with instructions. I promise, do some research and then be patient when you go to use the extractor. It worked like a champ!I used the drill/extractor bit that was one size larger then the 5/64 bit. The drilling is key...one clean hole approximately 1/16" deep. Reverse the bit and "slowly" remove your screw. Reverse/counterclockwise with drill hole and the extractor. I used an electric drill for the hole and a manual hand-held driver for the extract.Watch a video or two for the technique and have patience. It really does work.

I was sure I had messed up my screw pretty bad when I attempted to drill it out using a standard drill bit. Not sure what I was hoping would happen. Then I found this extraction set and thought "what the heck, it can't hurt". It came out no problem at all, with a slow speed and some pressure. Tip: If it doesn't work, keep trying one size extraction bit larger until it grabs.

Finally removed a broken stud. Only problem was cosmetic. The plastic case had been dropped and damaged either by suppler or courier prior to delivery. No problems with contents of case as I got the stud out. Can live with the damaged case

Quality is little low but good enough to get the job done. The golden paint is chipping off but still able to extract bolts and screws. Not sure how the thread will do but in this price… m satisfied.

This is a really good extractor set, covers most common sizes and they are well made and in a nice case to keep them tidy. I am really pleased with this set

These didn't work for me, but to be fair I tried them with a very small screw. I was just disappointed because it came with such a large variety and such a sturdy and convenient case. Other tan not extracting my broken screw, my only complaint is that there were any directions or markings. Thankfully I was able to look up similar products that showed that the part that looks like a little drill is in fact NOT the drill side. I also was never able to confirm whether the extractor side should be used in "forward" or reverse like unscrewing a regular screw, but I tried both and neither worked for me. I will also say that the bits themselves look very very sturdy not sure of the material, but I don't see them breaking easily.

Disappointed. First time using the set, the screw extractor broke (sheared) flush with the sheared end of the screw attempting to remove. Unfortunately, in a worse position now then before attempting to remove the screw.

Had a screw that was stripped out and totally rounded out, unable to grab with any screwdrivers/drill. Took a few tries to get the right size, but after cleaning the head with one side, you flip the bit, keep it in reverse, move slow, and it will work. No idea on how hard this screw was torqued down, but it backed it out without issue. If you’re in a pinch and looking for a cheap option to remove a stripped bolt/screw, this one worked totally fine for me!
