this is one of two products ordered from Empire Tactical with the same specs. both are the same length however, one is thicker than the other. both ends are round, not sharpened tips(similar to a meat thermometer). this is a long keychain poker. there is no grip on the handle portion. no effort with force or torque would be safe. also, the threaded portion is not deep enough to stay in the handle if used as a lever. test depth, thickness or heat signature. maybe for the kitchen, lab or wilds but not for a workshop. both are pictured with a titanium "toothpick" sold by another vendor on amazon. NOT sold with titanium keyrings btw.* who sells the pick/poke in the first review? that looks like it would survive heavy abuse

I like the product very much, it's strong, durable, and obviously well made. I have no complaints, I'm really impressed by the craftsmanship of the product. One thing I would have liked to have seen it come with, is a protective cap for the exposed threads used to fasten it to the handle, that are exposed whenever the item is not assembled and ready for action.

First off, the pick itself is rather dull. Then there’s the aluminium barrel, it’s a cheap choice of materials and lacks the impact strength and temperature response of titanium...Which brings me to the threading of the two parts: the threading from one material to the other (pick to sheath/barrel) is rough. Like “I could swear this thing is cross-threading” kind of rough. The first time I unscrewed the two pieces, it felt “jammed”, and sure-enough, there were aluminium filings that peeled off when I separated them—something totally expected when you have two alloys with completely different hardness ratings and completely different temperature response rates. Which also means that the threading back-on to the pick handle was nearly impossible. For this much money, they should have just machined both parts out of titanium.

I wanted this since it looks like a Kubotan with a spike. It comes in 3 parts. A key ring hole cap, an aluminum sheath that screws on, and the titanium pick.I plan to use this as a keychain.The leather strap broke immediately. So, I tossed it into the trash.The parts close as a blunt object but the user can have the spike ready by twisting the cover on the other end.They’re secured by screwing each component. It is far from a quick ready defensive tool unless you loosen it somehow to deploy the spike.I thought the sheath would be titanium instead of aluminum which is a disappointment so I took off one star.Overall it will be a great self defense tool, a tool to open packages and an ice pick.During wearing it the keychain top unscrewed. Luckily, it was turned in and I recovered it. It will need an O-Ring.If you loosen it just to the level of the O-Ring on the other end, I can see how this will be able to do a quick draw, if necessary.
