It’s an ice pick. It’s pretty big and very easy to use. I was not a fan of the style, but it does what it’s supposed to and sits in a drawer the rest of the time.

I have never had an ice pick before, I buy bags of ice put them in the freezer and then later on they turn into a solid block of ice that normally I would use a hammer on but that's messy and doesn't break up all the ice and I had to keep it in the bag so I could keep hitting it with the hammer. I decided to pour the ice into the ice bin in my freezer where it belongs and so figured I'd try this pick to break it up. IT WORKS SO WELL!! Sorry for screaming but I was really shocked, I guess the old ways of ice picks and such are timeless. It cuts through the ice so well, just a few jabs and I have chunks of ice for days, Love it!

It was broken at the top when I got it. The top metal part won't stay on because the screw that is supposed to hold it in place came out and is stripped so can't go back in. But even without the metal piece at the top, it still does it's job very well.

All we needed was a workaday tool, a simple ice pick, and I was delighted when this product arrived. It is hard to believe that such a nice product costs less than $5.00! It is well-designed, with a stainless steel pick and a metal cap on top so you can tap it with a hammer or other hard object if the ice is REALLY hard. The metal cap is slightly larger than the handle of the ice pick, and I realized that the result is that I am not as likely to hit the hand holding the ice pick if I miss slightly with whatever tool I am using to pound the pick. What the Amazon product page does not show is that it comes with a matching wood case to insert the pick for storage. This will keep it from being damaged in a storage drawer or keep it from damaging YOU if you put your hand into said drawer. The pick has only been used once, but it looks sturdy, and I expect it to last.It is nice enough in appearance that I will also keep it in mind as a small gift item.

I live at a walking distance of a new Wal-Mart. Before the Wal-Mart was opened a church and voting destination was on the property. I do not have any suggestions about the two. I am okay with the store or the church. We have a lot of pine growth here and I guess some of it has to go if we have our everyday needs. So what is this all about? You cannot buy or barter to get an ice pick with either one. Also you are thinking why does this mild natured female of many years need an ice pick? I need it to open the holes that come with potting pots. You can get all manner of large receptacles for your plants but you cannot figure out how to tear the pot apart to let the soil drain. The answer was an ice pick. I bought it from Amazon. And I keep it on top of the refrigerator. So as to keep others not to ask questions. The pick works fine and I try not to draw blood. I am thinking about changing the ice pick into the refrigerator since they are for a similar usage but this works well for me and I seldom use the pick. I keep my own pots rear to year. I have been a fan of Garrison Kellior for many years am beginning to follow him though I have never been out of Texas.
