The box contained 2 - FJCTER ice picks. The metal pick end comes to a sharp point and did not deflect or bend in any way when striking hard frozen ice. The sharp point digs into the ice allowing you to easily cut the size piece ice you want. The pick fits my medium sized male hands just right and allows me to place my thumb over the end of the pick to help keep it from sliding upward in my hand when striking downward. These ice picks have wooden handles that do provide some grip but can slip when wet. I am satisfied with this product.

At a standard price (not on sale!) of $3.99 for a quantity of two of these ice picks, these are astonishingly good quality! We have a problem with the ice in our freezer's ice maker tray sometimes turning into a big large chunk of ice, rather than individual ice cubes. I got tired of damaging my screwdrivers by using them to break up this monstrosity in my freezer, so I ordered these.Pros:they're on the shorter side, which is perfect for my use case since I need to use them in the relatively cramped space of my freezer's ice traythe handles are easy to grip and comfortablethey come with covers, so they're easy to store without accidentally needing to go get a tetanus shotthe metal shaft is quite thick and sturdy compared to other ice picks I've seenthe point is pointy. I mean, this is to be expected in an ice pick, but some I've used looked more like billiard queues than actual ice picksThey're $3.99 for TWO!Bottom line: you can probably tell, that I'm really impressed with the quality of these for the price. Recommended.

Waste of money. Only one of the 2-pak even twisted open. The other was defective and literally had no opening. The pick is very short and the cover had dirt in it. Returned.

How much can you say about an ice pick? Well, I can actually think of a few things. These are a nice replacement for the one we’ve had around for years, which had a bulb-like handle and a rusting metal pick. I really like that a cover screws securely onto the metal point and prevents harm to me or to other items in the kitchen drawer, and they don’t take up much space either. We do use an ice pick to break up ice in an ice maker that is prone to creating ice blocks, but we also use it often to poke things like the seal on a jar that won’t come off. It’s probably the only tool in the drawer that has a single strong point, so this is the go-to when a need arises. I was surprised to see how smooth and sleek these are with the cover on, almost as though you might find a nice pen inside. I’m pleased to have them.

For me, an ice pick is essential kitchen equipment, and not just for cracking ice, but for those moments when you need to puncture something, pry a recalcitrant lid, lever two frozen items apart, or (for tea lovers like me) feather apart a dense cake of puerh. A bare ice pick rattling around in a drawer, however, can be a hazard, so these picks, with their neat screw-on caps and beautiful wood barrels, are just the ticket. The picks themselves are thick, sturdy, and should stand up to all manner of impromptu uses. The caps screw on tightly. There’s two in the set, so you can keep one in the kitchen and the other with your luxe barware. I’m so very pleased by these and definitely recommend them!

I got these to break up frozen food to help it thaw quicker. The pick works well for this. The most outstanding feature is that it is so much better looking than I expected from looking at the photos. The deep color, the grain pattern, and the smooth finish make it beautiful to look at and a pleasure to handle. More like what you would expect of the barrel of a fine fountain pen, not a tool. The little bit of excess glue at the joint of pick and handle was easy to scrape off with a blade. Curiously, there has been a strange mistake made. There is no way that one of the picks is going to open. The good one has a seam in the brass band where the cap unscrews from the handle. The brass band on the non-functioning pick has NO seam, NO opening at all! Whoever assembled the pick must have grabbed a brass fitting that hadn't been machined. But the good pick is so good, and such a good value ($4 at the time of this review), that it still deserves 5 stars.
