What's not to like about this basic old-school rain gauge? Easy to see/read, accurate, and even a bonus sprinkler gauge for a very reasonable price! Would recommend to others, no complaints here.

nice yellow color so you can pick it out if your grass is green. two parts if you want to check your watering levels. It can be mounted but that is a bit tricky. pretty simple nice big clear numbers. Now if we would just get some rain

Good product. Have used many of these. Sun here in Florida cooks the life out them after a time. You get 2 or 3 years out of them.

I’m give it this a 4 due to the reasonable pricing and ease of reading (and hopefully the durability compared to glass).. I’d give it a 5, but I question the accuracy of rainfall measured. Why? I’ve compared it to 3 others rain gauges I have in close proximity. Before someone comments; telling me I get what I paid for; or buy a real Weather gauge. Precise accuracy isn’t what I wanted, I just want to track how much precipitation we get to maintain our yard. This said; I don’t know if it’s the square shape or markings, but it always shows me less than the others three gauges?? Yes; evern with accuracy differences, I would buy it again!

Taylor makes great, professional-caliber meteorological equipment, and this gauge is no exception. This gauge is simply functional. Taylor includes clear, concise instructions that basically come down to this: stick its base in the ground with the 2-inch spike on the bottom, and read the water level from the bottom of the miniscus after a rainfall. The acrylic is translucent, and the increments are clearly marked and visible.Yes, this gauge is a model of simplicity and functionality. And, best of all, it is tremendously inexpensive. This is the third one I have bought, the previous two having fallen victim to a hose and a dog lead being dragged across them, snapping off the anchor spike; this is in no way a defect of the product. The only other caution regarding use of this gauge is to remove it from service before the first frost; if it freezes hard with water in it, it will crack. In short, this is a well designed, built well of quality acrylic resin, and priced very affordably.

I've been through a couple of glass rain gauges and they were too small and hard to read. The five inches this rain gauge holds is plenty so that I can go out of town for the weekend, come back, it it won't be past the five inches. My mailman was admiring it so I bought him his own. I like this, great price, easy to read, easy to put in soil. Would buy again.

I am unable to keep this level when in the group for accurate measurements. Anything that touches it will move it - too light weight.

Jill Lipton writes "Very useful rain gauge. I recently had new shrubs put in and was concerned that I was not giving them sufficient water. This rain gauge took that concern away and I am now able to access how much water to give the shrubs."

It told me there was 2” rain last night and confirmed many good and dry spots about my sprinkler system. Now, I need to spend some money to change the lousy design from my builder!

I like the fact that I get 2 rain meters, one large, and one small, that I can place in my front yard as well as in my back yard. They both can be spiked in the ground, or clipped to a fence post, which the latter was my place of choice. It will be interesting to see how long the plastic will last with the sun's uv rays, but I would think it should last a few years. However, at this price, I would simply purchase these again.

I assume the difference is due to the slightly smaller opening on the smaller rain gauge.I will be comparing it to my other gauges.
