The lip of the tube is so small that it falls through the holder. You'll have to wrap something around it to work .

I thought this would be the replacement for my frog rain gauge, but it was too big around so I had to return them. I would choose glass every time, every plastic rain gauge that I have had, has cracked and leak out. If you have a larger rain gauge and need a replacement tube, this is well made, it is just too big to fit in my frog rain gauge. Yes, I would recommend this, but before ordering, check the diameter first, I just seen replacement tube.

Had to reorder after I broke it when I dropped it into the copper holder. But I like the flat bottom - easier to read and clean than the rounded-bottom ones.

These came in used from Amazon, which is what I ordered.... they were not well padded by any means, but they came through without a scratch. They measure rain collection excellently, are a little wider than most rain gauges I used previously, but it'll make it much nicer to clean out the mold later.Slime mold in the bottom of the tube will still be a pain to clean, but there is more room to twist the brush around in there to help get it clean.
