Top Post Battery Disconnect Switch is a simple twist of a knob provides a convenient way to quickly disconnect and reconnect power from an automotive battery.
The switch mainly used to solve the problem of leakage and loss of electricity and ensures a clean, solid, low profile connection to your Car, Vehicle, RV and Boat batteries which have a standard 15-17 mm cone top post terminal, also for electrical equipment's switch.
Negative Battery Post ONLY
- This battery switch uses a green knob that turns clockwise or anti-clockwise to disconnect or connect the battery.
- Loose is power off, tightening can be conductive.
- By simply turning the knob about 45 degrees, you can engage or disengage the switch.
- Compatible for top post terminal, battery negative post only.
Easy Operation
- Remove existing cable from negative battery post and set aside.
- Clean battery post for a good electrical contact.
- Install battery switch to negative battery post and tighten.
- Bolt the negative battery cable onto the “male” end of the battery disconnect switch and tighten.

Made of cheap cast material, not brass or other durable material. As soon as I tightened the vehicle's post onto this battery disconnect the thin metal tab broke clean off. Would give zero stars, if possible.

I recently discovered a parasitic draw in my vehicle, so bad in fact that it would drain a fully charged battery overnight.I have spent thousands trying to rectify the situation but to no avail.Who knew that an $8 item would be the answer I needed! Very easy installation and very simple to use. Works exactly as advertised. No more dead batteries from undetectable parasitic draws on the battery. Just turn it off to disconnect power from the battery and reverse the procedure before you crank the vehicle. Very simple. Very inexpensive. Works like a champ!

Nice quality units. Very easy to fit, less than five minutes once bonnet is up! Works well, switches on and off easily. Arcs a little when switched on as expected so with prolonged use may need cleaning on contact surfaces. Don’t over-tighten battery terminals or it may snap or damage when fitting. Keep it clean so no electrical tracking can take place which would cause slow discharge of battery. Make sure that there is room for it to fit next to the battery. Only fits on the negative terminal, makes it a little safer for DIY fitters when using a spanner near the battery, -presuming negative ground vehicles! Should increase life of battery as a good battery will only need a top-up charge occasionally. Definitely slows discharge times.Wish I had found these years ago instead of taking the terminal off every time!!

I installed this on my 1968 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible, as I put the car away for the winter and did not want anything draining my battery. This car has top terminals on the battery, but it if had side terminals (like some of my other older GM cars) it would not have worked.The "on" and "off" is easy to do with the turn of the knob.Just remember that if your car has pre-programmed functions, like stations on the radio, you'll lose them all when you turn off the power.

If you have a vehicle or anything else with a battery that you only drive/use occassionally, this disconnect can save you from a dead battery. We use these on our "toys" when we store them (quad, side-by-side, snowmobiles) and also on a classic car that only comes out on nice days. Our car had an electrical draw that was draining the battery so we put this on until we figured out what it was; turns out there is an analog clock in the dash that keeps ticking away after the car is shut off. It needs to in order to keep the correct time but since it can go months without being started, the battery would run down. Now we just turn this knob whenever we park the car & we are good to go! No more dead battery.

Pretty decent product but could be much better with a few simple design improvements. Not sure what type of metal used but definitely not much brass, appears to be an alloy of some type. Battery corrosion appears very quickly, need to use a product to prevent. In some places the metal is very thin, not sure how long it will last drawing heavy amps to start engine.
