This kit makes small soldering repairs easy. The kit comes with two rolls of soldering wire, and the wire feed works as expected. I am too used to holding wire separately so I may not use the direct feed. The factory heat setting of 380 is good for most jobs, and you can adjust it higher or lower easily.Note that in addition to the soldering wire, you may want to use FLUX for clean and strong soldering. (The kit does not come with flux; you have to buy it separately. Without flux, the gun will melt the solder wire but it will bead up or form irregular shapes). If you are not experienced, your first few attempts may feel frustrating.

This is a really great soldering kit for home use, such as needing to fix electrical wires, or circuit boards, or like fixing a headphone jack back on. I really like the self feeder, it makes it easy to solder. The soldering iron heats up super fast! It also is very easy to handle and grip. I really appreciate the extras included, like the tweezers and desoldering pump. The desoldering pump is a really great tool to use when having to remove components from circuit boards and for cleaning up the excess solder.To those that are saying this kit doesnt work, they dont know how to solder! Solder is for copper, gold plated metals, not for aluminum to aluminum or solder to stainless steel. You would need a special kind of solder to solder onto stainless steel and you would need special flux. (Flux is not included in this kit) You can't just solder random things together. Also, this is not a welder, lol.

I have been searching for a tool that is easy to use, easy to learn, and safe around the house to fix the various technology repairs that usually result in my throwing the item after it's damaged. This is a well built tool, and I love the auto feeder of the coil. The stand is convenient and makes it safer to use. This is a very good tool for technology repairs around the house!
