This soldering iron doesn't work. It took me almost 2 hours to solder two terminals. The heat bearily works. I had to keep charging.The tip doesn't get hot enough to the point If you bring the solder into contact, it doesn't even melt.I wish I could return, unfortunately, my return window has already passed.I'll go to a local store and buy a soldering that actually works.

Trying to solder a header on a pcb, it wouldn't melt the solder enough to get a flow.This was just a small raspberry pi.Great idea, love thought of being able to solder something without having to spread a station all out.I'll keep it for small wires and such.So I re tried the iron with lead solder, before I had used the solder it came with. With led solder it worked ok.Still a little weak, and also shuts off with the light pressure on tip thus the 4 not 5 star.But useful when you don't want to plug something in.

Have been using it mainly at home to fix the kids electronic toys, Christmas lights, LED strips and do have couple of Rasberry Pis and keep meadling with them and creating new projects when time permits. Most of the time I work in my basement and the lights in the soldering rod and very thoughtful and help me fix stuff in low light, the 3 tips provided are more than enough for the DIY projects.

I bought this to be able to go outside and wire-in a second ultrasonic speaker on my "Neighbor's dogs: shut up!" whistle to expand the angle of coverage. I had four solder joints to make. The iron heated up quickly to LOW every time I turned it on. It quickly heated the joint and the solder when applied. It was well-balanced in my hand. I'll be using this for other projects that can work on for the half-hour or so of soldering time that a fully-charged battery will allow.

I was skeptical how this would perform but to my surprise this worked well.hey don't expect it to work for an hour, its small battery, 20 mins is reasonable.It worked well & served the purpose for small soldering needs, the quality of the accessories that came along with are good enough to perform the tasks. overall a nice product for one who is looking for a portable soldering machine
