I'm back to using my really old Weller hand held soldering gun - it consistently works and has for many years. There is something odd about this soldering 'pen' - it doesn't heat well the tips wear out almost immediately , it heats inconsistently, no matter the wattage.

My old 30-watt Ungar soldering pencil died, and this Weller is a very adequate replacement. The LED lighting is a nice feature, though I usually work with a decent light anyway. I have a Weller soldering gun from decades ago, and it's provided reliable service. I expect that this soldering iron will provide the same level of service. The choice of three tips will provide all the versatility I need.

Bear in mind this is a low-cost soldering iron. It works fine and at this price I didn't expect more. Make sure you watch a video on tinning the tip before using. I had serious trouble with the tip holding solder until I did that.

Easy choice for smaller projects. I opted for my own solder after reading the other reviews. Heated up fast and has a built in stand. Very happy with my purchase.

I normally buy a base model Weller every few years. They are great irons. The light on this one seems to have a low refresh rate which seems to make it appear to slightly flicker. Other than that, the rest of the iron is perfect. Comfortable, and heats up fast and pretty even. Make sure you do not use the included solder. It seems to be very awful.

This soldering iron heats up quickly and works great. I don't like the solder that came with it because it has flux inside. That's my only problem
