  • Question: From which degrees should I start to heat up the soldering iron?
  • Answer: We recommend that you start heating from the lowest temperature 200℃ / 392℉ and then heat up gradually when necessary. Do not heat up on highest temperature at the beginning as it may cause the tip to burn out.

Saw this price and I thought, there is gonna be a situation that I'll find myself trying to connect a couple wires and wish I had this.I bought it, it works and it has solved the times I needed to connect a couple wires. I keep it in my car and enjoy telling people that I could just solder that real quick for you. When someone says, no you can't, you whip this guy out and prove them wrong. That's worth this price all day.

No big issues it takes a minute to heat to the right temperature but works perfectly no issues with the buttons or the screen the only thing that bothers me is the silicone grip it keeps moving but everything else works perfectly . Great starter kit it comes with a little bag.

I gave this item 3 stars for two reasons: First, this soldering kit includes a spiral soldering gun stand which includes a support rod to keep the stand from sagging. The support rod in my kit is the wrong part because the bends in the rod are in the wrong place to be able to support the spiral. The soldering gun is "OK" and I will keep it, but I would like to have the correct support rod. Secondly, The information in the ad for this item said it would be delivered the next day, but was actually delivered on the THIRD day. Don't make promises you can't or don't intend to keep. Also, if you are going to supply lead free solder you should include a small container of flux. My project was delayed for an additional day because without flux, lead free solder requires far too much heat to make a satisfactory solder.

This works better than I thought it was going to I'm impressed with it and I like all the accessories that it comes with It's handy and the cases awesome however it sucks if you have to change tips because you got to wait for it to cool down and it takes a while to cool downgreat tool definitely recommend it

I took it from the packaging, a little excited, I had a project that was waiting for a working Iron and I wanted to get started. Still do. I thumbed the oddly placed on button and it popped out. When I looked done to see what fell I caught the trim, as it fell from its seat around the now missing On button. I could not locate the fallen button but needed to continue. I managed to press the actual momentary button, on the pcb, inside the plastic wand, a wand. It came on and quickly rose to a temperature (far under what the screen was claiming, but a usable temp, none the less. In the next 10 min or so, the up temp - button and the temp - down button, both fell out, not leaving, a single trace of what might have been used to attach them, in the first place. So, I'm of the belief that there was nothing planed, in case the soldering iron was ever used where gravity might be in effect.I tried to rig buttons to fit the square and octagonal holes above the pcb button actuators. While fitting something over the hole the wire feeding AC power to the board came loose because the crazy thick, crazy stiff, cord pulled loose from its solder points. I tried to get it working and succeeded only to have the next weak point break until it is now a lump of junk on my desk. Much like it was while waiting to be sent, as a joke on me for thinking I bought a working tool.

Just another of the many cheap soldering irons made in china. Not meant to be used for repeated high heating soldering jobs but for low melt point solder, more than adequate. Watch out when you first use this gun, the temperature is set at max, this will radically shorten the life of your tips and the tip holder. The solder that comes with this kit is low temp solder and won't need much heat over 250 so turn the iron down before using.

I like it. I use mine for soldering with guitar projects. Just got it a couple weeks ago, but have already done 3 projects with it. Works very well. Precise. Could stand to get a little hotter, like my old / clumsy soldering iron. And feels just a little on the cheap side. But it's very good. I think I may try one of the thicker tips too. Might help disburse a little more heat. The solder is crap that comes with this. No big deal at all. I have good solder. But the rest of the kit is good. LOVE the stand that it comes with. Helps me a lot. Also love the on/off button on the cord. Those are the 2 main reasons I got this. Not sure about the temp control button. I crank it up all the way and leave it there. But yeah. Very good little kit.

Fantastic collection of parts. No instructions for how to assemble the stand, but once you look at the photos in the amazon listing it's clear that you put one nut most of the way onto the iron stand and onto the solder stand, and then put each through their holes in the black metal base (solder stand faces 90% do the left sticking past the left edge of the item), then, with pliers or a little wrench, tighten the second nut onto the bottom of the black base onto each stand until tight.Soldering iron has been upgraded since the old version of this iron I bought a year ago... this one has an on off switch in the cord, which is brilliant, and the tips are lasting much longer than on the old version of this iron so far (like, I haven't had to change the tip yet after 15 or so soldering points done... the old one might not have lasted half that long, believe it or not). And it comes with lots more tips.desoldering gun is excellent, although they are always hard to use and desoldering wick is a good thing to have also.sharp little wire cutters are excellent, and also are useful for stripping. two little tweezer pairs are really well machined and very tiny and strong on the tips. I'm sure there's more - oh it comes wiht a surprisingly thorough instruction list for how to solder, which is great to see.arrived fast, on time, cheap, great, case is great too although you cna't put the stand back in once assembled.
