Le fer fonctionne très bien mais les embouts sont pas de bonne qualité car ils fond

Works perfectly. The iron is plenty hot to solder some thick stuff together. I successfully soldered 10 gauge stranded copper to make a welding extension. Don't use the included solder for anything important, it doesn't flow properly at all. But with good solder it works extremely well. The bottom wire i tried to use their solder, and i had to redo it with my solder. It made a cold solder joint. That's why it's so lumpy. So just throw thier solder away and your golden. Strong little guy.

The stand is a joke. Too small and perhaps dangerous. The included sponge is worthless as less than the thickness of a sheet of paper. The rosin is rock hard and therefore useless. The solder iron seems ok, but I had to raise it to 475C before it would melt solder properly.

I didn't expect much for the price, but this little iron heats up rapidly, fits the hand well and appears well bult. I have used it once on light electronics and it worked well with the first tip already installed. I don't think you can beat this for the price.

I bought this soldering iron as a backup to my soldering station for when I want to solder questionable materials or when I need to solder a couple of items quickly. I reach for this iron more and more often as it just works well and the temperature is consistent and accurate and it is quick and easy to use.The extra tips are a nice touch and the solder is enough to get you started. The other accessories are not items that I have used as they were lower quality, but do not let that discourage you from this soldering iron. I do not think you could get a better iron for a lower price.

I’m only a novice at soldering. For years I was never able to figure it out, but in the past year I’ve read a lot and watched a lot of YouTube videos and finally have been able to do some basic soldering on connectors and stranded wire. I bought this soldering iron to have one a little better quality than the cheap ones I have from harbor freight, Walmart, etc. I like all the accessories it comes with. It’s nice to be able to choose the temperature, though I’ll admit I’m not experienced enough to be able to say “turn it to THIS temperature when doing THIS job”. Still, this is a good unit if you want to learn soldering and have a tool that’s more versatile than the cheap ones in the stores. If I soldered for a living, I’m sure I’d want a Weller or another top brand, but I only do soldering every now and then and mostly it’s for car electronics like stereos, speakers, amps, and things like remote start systems. You can’t beat it for the price, and it works well to do a quality job for a DIY.

I have been soldering for many years with a 100 watt soldering iron When this one didn't work as fast as my old one did. I was going to give it a lower rating, but then I figured it out. This one worked well enough to replace a large capacitor on a control board (including removing and replacing the board), I set it at 350 degrees. I like the diital temp control feature. And it comes with many different tips which are handy. If it last, I made a good buy. It was not expensive and it works.

I recently went on a small amateur radio expedition (DXpedition) to the Galapagos Islands (HD8M). I needed an inexpensive and portable soldering iron for the tool kit so I bought this one. I used it a couple times before we left just to be sure it worked and to change the display from C to F. It heats up faster than I expected and did the couple minor jobs at home easily. Once on the island, I needed to solder three things. The first two went smoothly but on the third the iron didn't seem to stay hot enough. These were small jobs soldering ring terminals to 18 gauge copper wire. On the last one, I think I saw the numbers flashing as if the iron had an issue. In all fairness, we had problems with the AC voltage at our location and I now believe that the fluctuating voltage may have confused the soldering iron (it has a circuit board in the handle to regulate the temperature). When all three radios would transmit at the same time and if we had an air conditioner, coffee pot, or toaster oven running, the lights would go dim or flicker. More than once this caused our radios to reboot. I think this is what caused the soldering iron to struggle a bit. After I got home I checked to be sure the ceramic element was intact and that the tip was still ok. I plugged it in and it heated right up. No further issues. I tinned the tip with fresh solder and will put it away until the next trip. One observation... probably because of the way I held it, once or twice I accidentally pressed one of the buttons to adjust the temperature. It didn't change by much. I'll have to pay attention to how I grip it in the future. I would definitely recommend this to someone who needs an iron for occasional use. If you solder frequently (more than once every week or two), you might want to invest in something more robust. KE2D
