Soldering iron was easy to use, set temp etc. Easy to grip. But there were 2 issues... the battery does not last very long. Get maybe 20 minutes use out of it before needing to recharge. And when it goes dead you realize as the solder wont melt anymore. Another thing I realized after getting it is the usual soldering tips I can exchange to do different types of work do not work with this as it uses a screw in mechanism. I get 2 tips and that's it. Not sure why they do that but it was disappointing.Feels like something that is great for quick jobs / situations you are away from a power outlet for some reason. Otherwise stay with a wired solution.

I bought this just over a month ago, but other than charging it up I didn't use it for over a month. When I tried to solder with it, it would get hot enough to solder even light-guage wires. It got hot enough to melt solder directly, but when touched to wires, the tip could not deliver enough heat. Although past the return date I contacted the seller, who promptly sent me a replacement unit. This one was much better. They apparently changed the tip design to add more thermal mass and it easily handles the wire that the original one could not. (The tips shown in the current ad are of the new design). However, these new tips are longer and, oddly, they didn't accommodate this change in the holder/stand, so the unit does not completely seat properly in it. See photos. Regardless, very pleased with the vendor's response.

I was excited to use this soldering iron and the wide tip which is the one I need was very loose. The fine tip is fine, but the wide one ended up literally falling into 2 pieces. Didn't even get to heat it up which probably wouldn't have worked. Tried contacting the company thru Amazon but their website doesn't work and the phone number link has no number attached. So I'm hoping they see this and reach out to me for a new wide tip. Seems like a nice unit other than this tip fiascoCustomer service reached out to me and sent me another one right away. Very satisfied and appreciate their customer support. So I changed to 5 stars.

This kit was purchased for a young child to use with parent, due to a strong interest in soldering. The most important part of the kit is, of course, the soldering iron. For the most part, this one rocks! The adjustable temp control lets it get hot enough to really work. The switch on the power cord is convenient, and the little stand it comes with works well along with the sponge. The only downside to the temp setting is that the text arrow that points to the temp setting got rubbed off very quickly. However, it is easier to figure out the approximate setting anyway.Customer service: our kit came with a weak probe for the multimeter. The probe separated rendering the multimeter useless. However, we let customer service know and they immediately replace the kit. Very responsive service, and I would not hesitate to buy from these folks again.

It's exactly what I expected and works perfectly fine. Is it a Weller? No. I don't do a lot of electrical work, particularly not intensive stuff, so it's fine for what I do (guitar and guitar amp repairs, basic wire/lead joining)The temperature control knob is a nice feature. It's not a precise digital control, but it's there and it works and it helps when I switch back and forth between Sn/Bi and Sn/Pb solder and helps not dump a ton of heat into what I'm working on.For such a cheap price, it's nice that it comes with the stand, case, a variety of tips, and the pencil and works as expected, just fine

I’m not a professional when it comes to soldering by any means, however I do like to collect tools just Incase I ever need them, and sure enough I needed this kit. I lost connection to a overhead compass in one of my trucks, and instead of spending 300 dollars to have it fixed by a professional.. I fixed it on my own! It was easy and thankfully I had this kit with me, I like the stand that holds the soldering gun, it makes things easier, especially when you’re like me and like to work on a wooden kitchen table. The kit is very high quality, and compact, it’s an awesome kit, again I’m not a professional but as a 18 year old that likes to do things on his own I can really appreciate this kit !

Purchased because my old iron took propitiatory tips i could no longer find when received i found the solder sucker broken (could have been done in shipping) and the piezo in the ohm meter was disconnected making the continuity setting not work (not in shipping wasn't soldered). Luckily the kit had what i needed to fix the ohm meter and i just fixed the solder sucker by cobbling it together with an old one.Aside from those issues i love the iron it heats up fast and the tips are greatI really like the little screwdriver and the tweezers are good quality too, the strippers were a joke though.

I bought this soldering kit for my son, and it turned out great. I didn't expect much from such an inexpensive product, but it works pretty well. It comes with everything you need to start soldering. My only complaint is that the wire strippers are meant for mostly large wires, and it is not possible to strip smaller wires. I would recommend buying separate wire strippers if you plan to use them. There is not a lot of solder that comes in the package, but if you are just soldering for fun or fixing household appliances, the included solder will last you a while. If you are going to be soldering on a regular basis, then you might want to buy a separate spool of solder. The iron itself is decent. It melts the solder pretty well and it takes about 5 minutes to heat up. The screwdriver has 8 different bits and is compact. The multimeter needs 2 aaa batteries to operate, and they are NOT included. The tweezers are handy when you are holding a wire to solder it to a joint. The desoldering pump does its job and it is easy to operate. The included case is nice, if you want to take your kit somewhere else. Overall the quality of everything is good, and the low price point is even better.
