My last solar powered fencer failed after a couple years. So, I haven't had this one that long, but it has performed well in both good sunlight, as well as with cloud cover. I like its features and operation.

The charger failed after just 3 months use. There is no support and no way to contact the manufacturer.I have concluded that the battery has failed. the unit is a one piece throw away. If you are into this level of waste then go for it.Product is a waste of materials and my time and money.No support here.

I was concerned that this fence might not be strong enough for my gelding who has been notorious for walking right through our low powered electric fence we use for camping. So far, zero issues and I have been using this fence charger for several months in Arizona. I’m sure I’ll have to replace the connection wires eventually due to the Arizona sun but thus far, I’m very happy with it!

Mounting bolts are cheaply designed pressed into plastic and eventually pull out.Battery storage very inadequate, find myself pulling unit off of mount to wall charge it regularly. Due to the inability to trust the solar charger, multiple times it went dead and cost me about 20 chickens over time thanks to a local fox. I would give this unit a 3 out of 10.

Product lasted 4 months before having battery charging issue. Unable to find contact information for sell to make a warranty claim. Looked through many amazon ads and no help.Edited 9/26Customer service was pretty quick getting back to me through amazon. They shipped another unit to replace the defective one.Very quick service.

UPDATE: After six months of use, one of my units developed a minor issue. The company responded quickly to my inquiry, made suggested solutions, and then ultimately replaced the unit. Their customer support was first rate. We deal with feral hogs here in Hawaii and the state severely limits us on what we can use. I can and do shoot them, but they come around late at night that is annoying. Barrier fences are almost impossible to erect due to the terrain here and very, very expensive. A friend had a electric fence and I ordered this one. It is well made and really puts out the juice. According to my research you need at least 5000 volts for pigs, and this one does 8000. I see a lot of units with energy outputs of .5 joules and less. This one puts out triple that at 1.5. I am not going to touch it myself, but my testing meter confirms this puppy puts out a nasty zap. It was easy to install. The instructions are good, though they do contain some "second language" laughable statements. Time will tell if it works and how long it will last in the weather, but right now I am impressed.
